Mandi May! She'll be home with us in 15 days (the kids have a countdown!) We miss our Jasmine so much (put her down 3 weeks ago), but what joy and excitement there is waiting for our new friend!

she's looking right at the camera!

Yayyyy!!! I'm so happy that a new little one has a wonderful new life to begin. Jasmine will be there in spirit and guide this new little one to be another wonderful pet for you and your family, Bonnie.

What a precious girl! Those eyes! That sweet face! She's so alert. I think she knows she's about to be spoiled to pieces! ;)

Oh that was only 6 short years ago and now my heart is wavering because I had to leave my sweet Mandi May at the vet this morning to see what's wrong. She has lost 8 lbs in a short time. Blood work came back normal so now it's ex rays and possible surgery. I can't believe how wrapped up my heart gets in my fur babies. I ask for prayers please!

:'( Poor girl! Eight pounds is quite a bit for unexpected weight loss! We will definitely be praying for her, and for you and your family as well. It amazes me how much our four-legged babies become part of the family!!!!

Oy! If there is something childish about it, then there are many others right there with you, including myself! I have two dogs... the one is getting quite old (around 12 years old) and is in poor health. She has arthritis, her one eye is constantly bloodshot, and she has seizures a couple times a month. We know her time with us is extremely limited. It is she that I cuddled up with after each of my miscarriages (we have had four). I am going to miss my friend something fierce when her time comes!!! All of that to say that they truly become a part of you/us!

Thank you ladies. The vet called once so far. The dye test seems to indicate a partial blockage. They will wait and test again. I'm assuming if she ate something that she shouldn't have and it's just sitting there, then it is fixable. I do appreciate your hugs and prayers.

Shannon, I am sorry about your girl. It is so hard. And I know it's normal for us to hurt for them, I just chastise myself because I know people are hurting out there over "bigger" things. But I have not learned the trick of not becoming a blubbering mess over such things! :)

Bonnie,
Praying for you and that all will be well with Mandi.
You know I have a soft spot for that girl! God made us to have room in our hearts for fur babies.
Never chastise yourself for the things you think are more important. The things others go through are not for everyone. God takes us through different things. He uses what we each know to bring us closer to Him.
I am sure she will be up and around and back to her old self real soon.
Hugs to you and Mandi girl!

hugs,
Denise

Seems they feel there is a partial blockage between the stomach & intestines. They are keeping her over night to make sure she stays good and hydrated, then tomorrow morning do another x ray. If the dye & foreign object have not moved on their own (which good hydration could assist in) she will have surgery to search for and remove the culprit.
I can't thank you enough for the encouragement, kind words and prayers. Totally reminded me why I am back after a too long hiatus. We just won't discuss how many tears I have shed today! ;)

AW!! So sweet! I had a boxer for fourteen years--wonderful dogs--I hope all works our for her and she's back to herself in no time. You worry about them just like family--and they ARE family. I still think Boxer understood me better than anyone. she is a beautiful girl.
