Hey everyone, I just posted a really cool video on apple cider making over on my Apples post under Garden Gate. It is about an old restored late 1800s press and an cider making event with the Amish Community assisting. It is so fun to watch and I love the old fashioned ambiance!!

Congrats Connie!!!! What wonderful news. You're going to be a great grandma. I love the candy corn in the banana thing - for others to eat of course. Every year I try the stuff and every year I don't like it :) More for you farmgirls that way.

Winnie - I'll have to mosey over too. There's a festival (heritage day I think they call it) in a town in Indiana we've gone to and they have the largest cider press. I'll have to see if I can find some photos I took of it. I think apple cider is my favorite thing about fall.

Anyone try the pumpkin donuts yet? I've not had time. I did notice the icecream parlor has pumpkin as the flavor of the month!

Hey Connie and Heather, I hope you enjoy the apple cider pressing video too. Heather, maybe this video is the same place in Indiana? Wouldn't that be a coincidence!

hahah, my apple obsession is catching, Connie!

Check this one out today! It was stacked on top of the pumpkin spice coffee. What a combo!! Of course it posted wonky again.

So what the ingredients say on the label sound really easy to duplicate. You take white chocolate, add pumpkin spice to it, and dip graham crackers in the mixture. I bet it would be easy to make and tasty too. Plus, you could add those cute fall or halloween sprinkles on top for some extra fun. What do you all think?

You're welcome Sarah - I hope to try it soon too!

Winnie - that is the press that I've seen!!! How funny is that! I posted under the apple board too so you're sure to get the message :) The press is truly amazing. That white chocolate pumpkin graham cracker combinations sounds yummy!! Thanks for sharing.

Love the photos ladies. It feels a little more like fall today. It was in the 90's and super humid yesterday and today at 2:30 in the afternoon it has finally hit 70. They cows love it. They stayed in the pasture quite a while this morning before coming back to the barn fans.

Heather, yes I saw where you have seen the apple press! So very cool!! OI left you a note on the other thread. What's this you say that it finally hit 70 today?? What?? Oh, can I just tell you how jealous I am!!!! The day started out with a light rain, then that stopped but it is still overcast and yucky humid! Hence I am in the AC talking with all of you!! LOL!!

Connie...don't know where you will find that kind of fan:):):)but I am excited to hear that we have a big cool front moving down from Canada the end of next week...maybe you can have your big fan and blow all the cool weather down to Winnie by the end of next week...our local forecast says that we might even see lows in the 40's at night...sounds good to me!!!

Hugs!

Oh how I long for Fall! We are up in MD right now, and are hoping to get cooler weather while we are here. We love seeing the different colored leaves though!!!

Heather - your doughnut recipe sounds phenomenal - I am going to try my gluten free flour blend and see if it works!

And whoever posted the candy corn on the cob - LOVE it! I will have to make some of those!!!

So many wonderful pictures of fall in full color and when I look outside all I see is green & more green. It will be Oct before I see any changing color around here.

Did my grocery shopping earlier and bought a stuffed girl scarecrow with her hair done up like the youngest daughter on the Brady Bunch. She, 'Nellie Bly' is sitting happily on child's metal bench on my front porch.

I know I could of bought something similar at the dollar store for less, but I wasn't at the dollar store. I figure my time & energy are worth at least $50 an hour. I do value them highly. So to my way of thinking I saved $45 and my porch is looking a lot more like fall.

Hey Ms. Sara...Sounds so cute...happy to hear that you felt like being out and about today:):):)Our leaves are changing here and it is a dark cloudy day...as my Granny used to say...Fall is in the air children...won't be long before the snow is flying:):):)how I miss the sweet elders of my family...they taught me so much about the seasons and what to look for about weather changes and the old ways that so many of us here at the farm hold so dear...I wish children today...could refer back to their childhood and like many of us say..."Those were the good ole days"...well I guess I am just "rambling on":):):)

Hugs!
