Finished the painting . . it's not perfect and the embellishment was somewhat of a challenge, but we're happy with it!
Cleaned, polished and refurbished the spare tire wheel and the one and only original Sprite hubcap there is and so now her "back side" looks lovely.
Pics will be coming . . . we promise!!

You have greatly inspired me! I have done all my glamping in a tent so far, now I want to buy a glamper to remodel. Thank you for all the creative ideas!

You go, Joanna! Robin and I have done our glamping in a tent as well . . . if you look through some of the other threads in Outpost you find more than one with lots of pics. Our little trailer has not been on the road yet . . . hopefully soon! But we just had a Backyard Glamper event in my front yard in June, in our tent. . . small, simple and intimate. We did have the trailer open for visitors! And, Robin slept out there the last few nights she was here . . . said it was very comfy! I'm going to do that myself!
Have fun!

How fun! And I love the name "Bramble". It will be fun to watch the transformation. Question for all you cute little trailer gals, I'm 6 ft tall, would I be able to stand up in many of these little trailers?

Wendy,
Some of the trailers might be a tight squeeze for your height. You'd just have to "try them on". I'm 5'8" and our glamper is okay for me but not room for a tall hat . . :D

P.S. If you look at the pics throughout this thread you'll see most of the already done work on this little trailer.

Wendy, I luv my Serro Scotty, but it's barely 6' tall inside... so my poor hubby has to duck when in my trailer...
I am 5'5" and am fine, but like CeeJay said, no tall cowgirl hats! lol!

I would love too! ,,, I have 3 trips lined up for 2015, 1 up in Central Oregon and 1 back in SO. Calif..., and if all goes well, my mom & I will be taking another trip back to Germany to visit our family, so I'll have to see where time & $$$ are as to whether I will be taking any other trips... BUT,,, as I told DH, in 2016, that's our "Hit the Road" trip year! Gonna lock up the house and hit the road.... Oh Yea!

With a LOT of muscle power, wrenches and sockets, my hubby and I were able to break through all the rust and old paint to get the old and original hitch assembly off the tongue this morning! It's too old, rusty and dysfunctional to use so hubby is remodeling the hitch . . . YAY!!
It took both of us too!

Well, the tongue is all wire brushed, scraped and cleaned and now has a nice coat of Rustoleum Rust Reformer to cure and dry. Then it'll be regular paint . . . looking much better! It's also hot outside and I'm feeling really grubby . . . shower, here I come!

Thanks Denise! It's too danged hot to do anything today . . . will wait till the morning to do the topcoat.
Hubby is working on the metal work necessary for the new hitch asssembly . . . we'll have that part done soon.

Then we have to pack wheel bearings, and make decisions about wheels/rims and tires . . . $$$ ugh!

"Reiver's Rest" exterior painting is finished. She got her lacy border with one stripe in deep plum, the rest is ivory. The border and stripe go all the way around!
Fresher, cleaner, more "girlie"!

Your lacy border is darling. How did you do that? Is it a stencil, rub on, etc? Please share.

Kem,
The lacy border is a stencil and it was kind of challenging to get that all done. Best tool to use was 4-inch foam roller. It's not perfect, but we're happy with the result. The fact that the trailer has textured skin added to the challenge . . . it's difficult to get clean edges on paint designs on textured skin.
The stripe is brushed on, taped off with painters tape and then touching up the edge with a small artist brush . . . same issue of "clean edge".
We like it a lot!
Thanks much!
CJ

On July 14th I posted a pic of the license plate and commented that I was finally able to turn in all the paperwork for the title application.
I'm SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO HAPPY to say that, today, the title came in the mail . . . with MY NAME ON IT!!! In the State of Colorado!
YAY! YAY! YAY!! Answer to prayer!
