Oh my goodness, CJ!! What a sweet little glamper!! I never come on this thread so thanks to your e-mail, I'm just getting caught up now. I am so glad you found this gem because you truly deserve it and Bramble looks pretty darn comfy in there! It was fun seeing all the progress through your pictures and I look forward to seeing more!

Before and after pics of the redo on the inside of the roof vent opening, including painting the ceiling and the "collar" and vent frame a light lavender.

This pic was taken before I painted the screw heads, but they are also painted to match!

I luv that you incorporated your vent into your color theme...
I have the old original aluminum one still.... maybe someday when I get ambitious enough I will re-do the ceiling... or I could just invite you & Birdie over for a "Let's work on Gracies trailer ~ slumber party"... lol!

Thanks Gracie! As you can see from the "before" pic, something HAD to be done!!

And, I like the slumber party idea! Wish we could! No long, ambitious road trips for Birdie and me this year . . . unless you're paying for it! :D

Well, this is the new curtain over the window in the door. A bit of the batik fabric we used elsewhere in the trailer, a pillowcase with eyelet border trim, a bit of ribbon and a silk rose.

"Cover-ups" happening in the Reiver's Rest

Covering a hole (approx. 3/4" diameter) that was drilled for a heavy duty pigtail wire that led to nowhere. And in this photo and the next one you can see the lace trim that is covering the unattractive caulking all around the entire perimeter of the trailer where the walls meet the ceiling. Here and there the ecru colored "daisies" are covering nail holes. (Why is it that people have to put nail holes everywhere and in the oddest places?)

More "Cover-ups":

First photo is the end of a cord to the porch light that was installed after trailer built. Wrapped with satin ribbon and tied with a bow just below the plug

Cord to a lamp is draped with a napkin and secured with ribbon just below the plug. This isn't permanent as the lamp may be moved or removed.

The other part of the cord to the porch light. Wanted the switch to be handy by the door . . . wrapped with more satin ribbon and more bows. This was the longest piece of cord and way more than was needed to go from the light to the plug in. Oh well!

"Reiver's Rest" is waiting for me to come home from my visit with my daughter . . . and glamping partner . . . for the new goodies I have for her (the glamper). Then I'm going to get my hubby to help me with a couple outside, mechanical matters that need taken care of.

The "Reiver's Rest" got a classy backsplash installed this past Friday. Love the way it makes the glamper look classier and "warm". The colors coordinate well with the colors in the batik fabric we've used.

Bottle cap coverups (wanted them to look a bit vintage/weathered) for the nut/washer units on the inside of the trailer where the grab bar is mounted on the outside next to the door.

Cj,,, Lookin' Good!
I am going over to look at another lil trailer Sunday afternoon... hoping it turns out to be worth while... since I sold my other lil trailer "Farmgirl on the Loose'...(back in Washington)... and I have all this fun 'farm girl stuff' that needs a new home...

If it isn't a 'doable' type trailer then I'll just have to go to Plan-B

lol! Happy Trails...

Grace, I was at a thrift store in Boulder Co and saw a big bag of corks for under 3 bucks. I should have bought them. I would have loved to try to create a little camper like the one you posted. It is darling.

CJ, you seem to know a lot about redoing campers. Mine is a full size, but currently having it partially gutted and some water damage repaired. Are there any books or good sites to read about redoing a camper? I am currently looking for heavy curtains to recover the 1980s couch. So much fun trying to decide décor for the camper. Want to keep wall neutral for resale value. Son reminded me most potential buyers would not like aqua or hot pink walls. LOL, point taken well. Pinterest has tons of redone campers, are there other sites on the web I can look at too for ideas? Need to get out all my camping purchases from garage/yard sales and see what I have the most of. I know I have the coolest vintage 50s aqua fan. I am leaning towards white walls, aqua, grey, and black. Need to see what the universe sends me. So thankful for returning health and excitement so I can do this project. Thank you Lord!!!

Kem,
I really don't know much about redoing a trailer that has been gutted and needing major work. This little trailer was in excellent condition and didn't need that kind of work. It did need a lot of creative TLC for cleanup, spruce up, refurbish and "cutesify".

If you are on Facebook you could go to the Glampers on the Loose Facebook page and see LOTS and LOTS of posts and ask for more info on doing what you need to do. You could also shoot a message to our own farmgirl Grace . . aka "katmom" for advice and ideas. She's done work on more than one trailer.

Thanks for the compliments. I am SOOOOOOOOO GRATEFUL for this little cutie being in such great condition and only needing minor work! I'm just not into the big, major work right now!!!

Hope you can get some info . . . and enjoy your project!

Today, I crawled around under the "Reiver's Rest" taking care of some wiring issues . . . amazing what people do to "jury-rig" things.
Nothing major but had to do some "straightening up" of things. AND, get all the dried up mud off the underside frame . . . it had been sitting in mud before being pulled out, rescued and coming to "live" with me. Fortunately the mud levels did NOT touch the floor!

I was covered from head to to with dirt! That's when a shower really feels good!

I agree Mz MaryJane!!! CJ has done a wonderful job and is so creative. Both of my little Scotty campers are in various stages of reclaimation and renovation. Some day I will post photos but right now it is just too sad. Lots of ceiling has been torn out inorder for me to find the leaks. I did find them......seems someone used a few nails that were too long and went thru the metal roof and all the sealant around the running lights has wasted away and water can freely come in thru there. I have discovered lots of wood rot so I am repairing that as I find it. But it has become a labor of love and I enjoy every bit of time I get spend out there.

Yep, we need a badge for that!!!

Hugs and prayers, Daizy
