My daughter had this little camp stool that belonged to her grampa (my hubby's dad) that he carried when out and about. He used a label maker to put his name on it (the green labels on the legs) and my daughter said they needed to stay there.

She thought I could make it more "girlie" and "glamper-ish" so I did.
I had some heavy natural duck fabric that I used for the backing on this seat cover. The top is part of a skirt made from natural colored linen-type fabric. The trim went all the way around the skirt about six inches up from the hem. A friend had given me a bag of what she thought was fabric, which turned out to be a lot of partially unassembled clothing items, which included this skirt.
I thought it perfect for this still. I made a "tube" that just slips over the legs and over the green canvas seat which is sewn on and in still good condition.

It works for girlie glamping that way, but take off the "tube" and it can be a regular non-feminine camp stool and if the "tube" gets dirty it can be laundered.

Will make a great addition to our glamping gear for extra seating, since our glamper trailer is quite small!

P.S. I would have used the same fabric as on the folding stool on page 10, but was completely out of it and no more available.

I can't paint this one because my daughter insists we leave it marked with her grampa's name . . . that's okay! He would have loved seeing our little "Reiver's Rest"!

Got the lettering of her name in the mail today. Will put that on soon.
Right now, gotta go change the plug on the cord for lights (tail/brake/turn) so I can use the premanufactured extension to plug her in to the Envoy! Picked up the extension and plug end yesterday, but when I got home realized that I had gotten the wrong plug end and had to go back for the right one . .
Always an adventure!

How about this? Decal made by another Sprite owner. Decided I wanted one so folks know the "Reiver's Rest" is a Sprite! They are manufactured by Caravans International, a company originally started in the UK, but did have a plant in Indiana for a few years which is where our little glamper was built . . 1971.

She gor her name applied today . . . on the back up over the clearance lights. I'll put it over the front clearance lights as well.
Also got a minor remodel job that makes storage space more accessible . . . details later.
The hitch insert is ready with it's brand new ball . . .
Gettin' there!

Pics posted later but . . . (tease, tease)

I repurposed a metal Stanley thermos into a more beautiful function. (It no longer worked to keep anything hot or cold) It's sorta the right shade of green to go with our glamper!

AND . . . finishing a little "remodel" to allow for more accessible storage space.

A Stanley thermos bottle that no longer keeps anything hot or cold. It does hold liquid so I decided it could be a flower vase for our Reiver's Rest glampsite. Little bit of lace, a few little silk flowers, couple vintage buttons, grosgrain ribbon with some glue and Mod Podge! The flowers in it are silk, but it will work for fresh as well. Going to use a solar light in the cup/lid for a little lighting!

In the "Reiver's Rest" there is a twin size bed and there never had been a dinette area that makes into a bed. Under the bed is a hinged lid that opens up into the open area under the bed but it is very difficult to lift and access that area without COMPLETELY unloading everything off! Soooo, I decided to open up the front to allow access to that area under the bed that is easier to get to. Removed a section of paneling, painted the framework and using a Battenburg lace valance fashioned a curtain cover for the opening. I glued and stapled Velcro (hook side)on the wood and sewed the other piece of Velcro across the top of the valance. It can be removed to launder if necessary, etc.
Now we can slide things into this area, making more storage in the trailer.

Boy have I learned a lot about wheels/rims and tires in the process of getting this little trailer on the road. GOOD GRIEF!!

This trailer was manufactured by Caravans International, which is a company that originally started building trailers in the UK in the 50s. Then they opened a plant in Indiana in the late 60s, early 70s. Mine was built at this US plant, it's a 1971 model.

BUT, the wheels they use were the same as the ones made in the UK and the bolt pattern is very different than anything available on USA made trailers . . . what a conundrum! Do you think I can find any the right size . . . nope! Not yet anyway.

So, the problem was that the wheel on one side was different than the original ones on the other side and the spare rack. The bolt pattern was right but the offset was too wide so the tire was rubbing on the frame! ACK!!!!

We took the spare off (original wheel and right one) and put it on where this wheel was and it doesn't rub the frame. Whoever bought that wheel wasn't paying attention to the offset dimension and the tire is brand new.

So, I was able to take her on another spin in the neighborhood (rural area) and it was very different . . . no smell of rubber burning and no funny noises. She followed me very well and I was tickled pink to have her out.

I'm in my 60s and this is a NEW experience for me . . . that of driving something that was pulling a trailer. I've driven all kinds of things all over the USA but never pulled a trailer . . . kinda intimating!

When my hubby asked about backing it up and I said, "nope, not right now . . . I have to take this one step at a time. That's why the campsites I chose are pull-through sites!"

Hey Cj,,, Kuddos to you sista! Baby steps,,, getting comfortable to the 'feel' of towing and familiar to any sounds that don't sound right...
As for backing up, if you need to back up left, cut your wheel to the right and vis versa.. If you know (friends with) any Truckers,, ask for backing up lessons.... as well as driving tips... who better to teach you...
Before you know it, you'll be cruising down the Hi-way, Dean Martin CD in the player and a basket of junk food in the passenger seat... oh wait, that would be me! lolol!

Hey Gracie and Diana . . . good to hear from you, my friends.

I'm not going to try to learn to backup right now. All this stuff has been enough stress to last for a month or so. My hubby is good at it and can do it, but he can also guide me. He's already been very helpful.
I'm just glad it's short, small and lightweight!
