Back in 1992 I did a cross country, taking the Canadian side, all the way to Calgary Alberta to photograph the Calgary Stampede (photo essay - I was studying photography full time while working full time). I took mainly backroads, camped all the way. Gorgeous country! In Manitoba I remember parking my car on the side of the road and sitting outside listening to nothing but the wind. It was quite an experience. Montreal is not a quiet city! lol I think you would enjoy it. Your little camper would be a lot more comfortable than my tent and sleeping bag. lol I would do it again with a little camper!

Found this unusual item (I've never seen one before) at Cost Plus World Market in Glendale, AZ this past week. It's a canvas bag measuring 9" X 5" with a vintage image on it and a plastic water container inside. The tag calls it a "Tote + Able". I doubt I'll use it for drinking water, but perhaps it'll make a cute decoration with flowers in it at our glampsite.

Sure am getting antsy for getting the "Reiver's Rest" on the road.

Still have a few minor things to do for her . . . and I don't actually PLAN to have her out until June.

But . . . .

Until June you can always have your afternoon tea & scones in her and dream of adventures ahead and back roads to travel.

Yes, Sara, I can . . . and finish up the little things that need done. I got my flower boxes made but haven't put the flowers in them yet, so that is yet to do. More importantly I need to construct an extension for the electric cord that hooks the trailer to the Envoy as what's there is about 2-3 feet too short to reach! A couple tire things and reconnect the propane tank (was all disconnected for painting) to finish up. I'm not concerned about the propane as it only runs the stove and frig . . . probably won't use the frig as we have an electric portable cooler and may not use the stove as we have a really nice camp stove and I prefer cooking outside anyway. We would probably only use the stove if we NEEDED to cook inside due to weather. We'll see how that all goes.
Need my hubby's help on some of it and we've had a conversation about it just yesterday . . . :D

ok, I think I will paint my propane tank...
I want to paint it white, lay a sheet of lace (re-purposed curtain)over and then spray paint w/black.. to give a white lace effect...
now if the weather would warm up and the winds would quit blowing!!!

That being said, I have heard it is not advisable to paint a propane tank a dark color,,, so maybe I'll use a matching blue like the blue in my trailer... hmmmm, thinking, thinking...

A tiny "Glamper Park" is a great idea . . . hmmmmm!
I painted our propane tanks the same light ivory as the trailer. There are two but I think I'm going to eliminate one of them . . . the only thing that propane runs in the trailer is the stove and frig. The frig can also run on electric and there is no heater, sooooo.
We prefer to cook outside on the campstove anyway and would probably only cook inside if the weather was yukky.

But, Robin is going to design a simple Scottish thistle design to paint on the tank(s) . . . just one thistle though.

I wanted to work a bit on the glamper stuff yesterday as the weather was decent until afternoon and then the wind came up . . .UGH!
However, I had more important cleanup chores to get done anyway. The wind blew all night and it was cold this morning . . . it was an earmuff morning for my walk. The wind has calmed down but it's still chilly out today. Sooooooo, I hear ya', with the wind and chill it's not conducive to glamper stuff!

All of you who glamp... Have you ever considered visiting the headwaters of the Mississippi River? It is a beautiful state park called Itasca. It starts in a lake and meanders more than 2'ooo miles to the Gulf of Mexico. Minnesota also has shoreline on Lake Superior. You can watch large freighters on the lake. If you decide to come, let the River Valley Farmgirl's know. We'll glamp together.

Having a devil of a time finding a wheel that fits this trailer. Seems as though, because they originally were made in the UK, they are not the same as most American made trailers. ARRGGHH!!!!!

Made reservations today for a total of 8 nights out in June, three different locations!

Boy, it's a good thing because campgrounds are getting booked up!!!
All locations within 50 miles of home here in southwest Colorado but in our BEAUTIFUL San Juan Mountain range of the Colorado Rockies!
Two locations are forest service campgrounds (yes, with some sites with electric) and I was able to use my Senior Pass for a discount! YA-HOO!

All have water and electric, only the middle one has showers . . we'll need them by then. However, we can do the shower bag thing if we need to . . . have done it before!

If they are in good condition inside the tires, I think I have two wheels that will work! Tires are no good, but I can get tires!

We think there is hope for the wheels . . I certainly hope so! Were able to break the bead on the tires, and now need to get them off the wheels for a better look-see. I'm praying!

Well darn! The wheels are good enough to use and the lug pattern is correct. HOWEVER, the offset is too wide for my trailer, soooo . . .
For now, plan B. My hubby says he can modify the wheels to fit, which we'll consider at some point! Oh well!
