Just me being nosey! I think one person posted awhile ago with a cute chicken costume. At our house 13 year old was dressed for his school dance last night as "an urban entrepreneur", you figure it out(Mom had NO part of this costume!)! Little man is going to be a lobster and dh and I have lobster bibs and those huge wooden salad fork and spoons we painted silver. Yes, we are nuts! How about you and yours?!!!Happy haunting!

I have one daughter being Pippi Longstocking and one being a "holy" cow (cow costume, wings and a halo) one son is going to be a hippy homework protestor (his idea totally) and one a vampire. I will be an Indian maiden (maiden!!!) I am room mom in youngest daughter's class and always end up dressing up for the school party and parade. I have learned to be something comfortable.

I am a middle school science teacher, and every year the science department hosts a "Halloween Breakfast" for the rest of the teachers before school starts. We have normal breakfast food, but also things like "brains"-made with a Jello mold. It's alot of fun. This year I am going as a scarecrow. It was so easy-I just got an old ripped flannel shirt and sewed raffia poking out of the holes, pockets, sleeves, etc. Then I made a flannel hat and sewed some patches and things on it. Then, when I put it on, I tie twine around the sleeves and legs to make it look like its holding the "stuffing" in! My students get a kick out of seeing us dressed up, also.

We may be trick or treating for the FIRST time this year!! I say may because my kids go to bed really early (6 30 - 7pm), especially with the time change, so being out any later trick or treating might just throw them over the edge! They have absolutely no clue what this whole thing is about and I, frankly, love that they don't. Reo, my 5 year old son, is just now at the age where it will probably be a lot of fun. Aria, my 3 year old is so go with the flow that she'd love it too. We'll see. I made them really small trick or treat bags so they can't get too overloaded. I LOVE the idea of a Halloween store..What a great idea. I remember as a kid coming home with my brothers and sisters and pouring our loot on the living room floor while the trading and bartering started. So much fun! Reo will be Spiderman and Aria has a cute unicorn costume that she refuses to wear..instead she just carries it around.. So she'll be a Goddess walking with her unicorn. I will be Autumn Goddess..something earth mothery and Doc, my husband...who knows..he hasn't decided..something clever for sure though.
Enjoy your time!

My daughter is going to be Cleopatra. It's a purple dress with big gold lame collar with lots of bangles -- my daughter loves anything with lots of bling as she calls it. We're going to our church to help out with the Halloween alternative party so couldn't have a costume that was scary. Today is hubby's birthday too so we will come home early and have his birthday dinner.

My daughter (10) is going to be a pirate, my son (old enough to not be doing this) is some sort of horror monster thing and my husband and I are staying home giving out candy. I may add the old scarecrow raffia ties to my overalls and shirt when I take my daughter trich or treating in town...Have fun!

these all sounds so cute..I must say the lobster costume with the large forks and lobster bibs would go over really well in our area..too funny!LOL have fun everyone and stay safe.
we'll be decorating a gingerbread halloween house today..and then we'll be passing out candy to others. My daughter..the "official candy passer outer" will be dressed as a pirate and my son will dress as a soldier in camouflage..
We prefer just to be the ones that pass out candy to folks.

Big guy goes off with "the dudes" and we will take turns walking to be a part of the excitement and see everyone. The little guy doesn't trick or treat yet, he'll stay with us to hand out the goodies in his costume that he seems to love! My husband says when some adult he knows comes to the door he's going to invite them in for "a little lobster"! He has a weird sense of humor to say the least! Hope everyone has a safe and Happy Halloween!

We are going to one of the local churches "Trunk or treat" . We have in the past have only gone to the country store down the road and to one other house. My son (5) is going as "Mr, Incredible" and My 2 years old daughter as a "fariy". I won't dress up but may wear my garlic earrings ( keeping the vampires away!) My husband won't dress up either.

We had a great Halloween party!!! Ben was Harry again...only this time "school clothes" Harry - tie and all. Rachel was a '60s girl, Hannah went as a homicidal maniac (didnt have time to get a costume on after work) - they look like everyone else! Addam's family reference. I went as a witch (duh)...went to our friends and ate bat wings (chicken wings of course), mummy wraps and lots of popcorn balls and sweets...then Karaoked and danced till we were pooped! It was a very nice time after being in with sickness for several weeks...and running back and forth to the hospital to see my mom (60 miles one way). We all needed a party!
