My father-in-law gave me this amazing book published in 1981 by Readers Digest called "Back to Basics: How to Learn and Enjoy Traditional American Skill." It has everything! From land surveying, to woodworking, to bread baking, to cloth weaving, solar energy to water turbines, rug braiding to metal work! I have fallen in love with this book!

Sounds like a great book. I enjoy learning about how things were done in the past. What a great gift.

If you liked that book, check out a series of books called Foxfire - same type of thing. They are usually available on Amazon.
