copying out my recipes. Decided I really needed to get them organized. I have many from my farm girl sisters. I am going to make a habit of trying a new one each week.
I am shocked at how many I have accumulated. I am always copying recipes from family whenever we visit the cousins up north.
Feels good to be getting it done!

What are you doing in the kitchen today?

Oh Denise,
I would much rather be organizing my recipes, lord knows I need to. But today my kitchen is getting a good scrubbing from top to bottom. I have been canning all week, the fridge is still so full of produce and leftovers I can't hardly shut the door. So after I unstick the floor, put all the jars of my bounty away in the pantry, give the counters and backsplash a good scrubbing I am going to tackle the fridge. I think there are things in the back that are taking on a life of their own.

Hugs
Julie

LOL Julie! I spent the morning scrubbing out the pantry and yesterday I did the refrigerator and ended the lives of some of those things. ;) Swept and mopped the pantry floor , found a home for everything. So now the task I keep putting off. These recipes. It always feels better when everything is organized and there is no chaos in there. The refrigerator and the pantry. They both seems to get out of hand sometimes.

Hi Denise,
Wow, wonderful because those will be some of the best recipes you will find. I am in the kitchen today making a German meat dish that simmers away in all that is good in herbs, spices, broth and sherry. But my motivation is so darn different that usual. We are in the process of putting our home on the market to sell and are moving up to the Coeur d'Alene, Idaho area. We are looking for a few acres in Rathdrum. So in order to stage our house here to help in a quicker sale, we packed all our things except what we would need for the next few months and saved out our winter clothes. Ha! All my hobbies and things are packed so nothing left to do except cook. (Even my books are in storage). I am hoping to be in Idaho before the snow flies. Homes are selling very fast here now. I am hoping our does too.
Take care now! Annie

Hi Annie!
I'll tell you a little secret, when we were selling our homes, we sold two different times, I baked right before we were going to show it. Everything was cleaned up and put away but the smell lingered. :) Sneaky I know but the people who came on that day were the ones who bought.

Do you mind sharing your recipe for the dish you are making. Always love to have new things to try!
hugs,

Hi Denise,

I find that the recipe binder is one of the toughest to keep in order. I have two and both are chaotic. I would love to share recipes. You may have just given me the inspiration to take care of them (a job put off for a very long time). I also wanted to tell you that I love your passage from the book of Psalm. Good luck with your book.

I really need to deep clean my kitchen, but today I was feeling under the weather and didn't do much of anything... except make potato soup from scratch... it was really tasty and hit the spot. Not as productive as all of you ladies, but that's what I did in my kitchen today. :)

Well, the recipes are now in a semblance of order. Now onto to something else.
Not sure what yet but there is always something to clean out isn't there?

AlyssaMarie~ potato soup sounds delicious! Maybe we could share some of our favorite recipes?

Denise! That's so wonderful! Copying my recipes is one job that is on my "to do" list... but in all honesty, I know I'm not going to get to it 'til our son's off to college! LOL! What an accomplishment! You GO girl! Hugs - Nini

My brother came for a visit this week and my kitchen is in disarray! So I will be cleaning top to bottom! (My brother loves meat, so there will be a good scrubbing of ALL of my drip pans...) poor hubby hasn't had lunch yet, either....he seems to stay in his basement when I am in a furious cleaning mood...LOL!!! I do plan on making cookies, though! I was wanting to try a flourless one I pinned the other day!
