Long story short, for several years, hubby and I have talked about adoption. We started the process in July and it's been crazy busy here! But.........
We've been approved to adopt a 7 year old boy from Ethiopia. He is absolutely beautiful and I'm looking forward to growing our family! (ok, and a little bit scared, but who wouldn't be??) It could still be 9 months or so until we get to bring him home, but at least we know we're jumping through all these hoops for.
One good thing about music, when it hits you, you feel no pain.

Oh Wendy, how wonderful!!!! What a blessing he will be to your family and you to him. Thank you for doing this. My honey and I have prayed for years to adopt but haven't got the go ahead from the Lord so we are hoping one day it's a go. I am praying for everything to go smoothly for your family and your new sweetie-pie

Congratulations, Wendy! I'm so happy for you! I know it seems like an eternity, but nine months will go by fast! In the meantime, how much fun you will have planning and preparing! Such and exciting time! SO happy for you!!!

I would look at that 9 months that you have to wait as a form of you carrying this child, and the magic of the birth...congradulations on a beautiful time of your lives...

How exciting! And let me just say I am overjoyed that you are adopting an older child. So many people only want babies and there's nothing wrong with that, but old children are AMAZING, too!!!

Thanks for all excitement! It is such a rush and wait process, but one step at a time...
My dh and I have been going back and forth on adoption for years and all of a sudden it just clicked for us.

Oh Wendy, what wonderful news! How excited you all must be. Was it only last year that you cut back your music hours to spend more family time? Now, a new son.
