Hi there!
We just started our mini farm in February. My husband has always wanted a farm but I am a city girl at heart. So this is all new to me! We have three feeder pigs and four seven week old pullets.
I've been married for seven years and we have an almost three year old little boy.

Blessings,
Jennifer

Welcome to the sisterhood Jennifer! There is so much you can learn from all the great farmgirls here. I too am a city girl although my grandparents had a small farm in Central Illinois. What is your lil' boy's name? I had two boys...love them lil' guys! They are so much fun~! It is great to see so many young folks going back to the land and self sufficiency. Good luck to you and your hubby and boy! If you have a question on any subject....just ask and you will get feedback from every corner of the planet!

My best to all,
Mel

O, a trouble's a ton or a trouble's an ounce,
Or a trouble is what you make it!
And it isn't the fact that you're hurt that counts,
But only--how did you take it?

Thanks for the welcome! Cole is my little guy's name. We have a small garden started too. We moved our flock outside to their permanent coop today-which was so much fun.

Hello Jennifer! Welcome to this great place to meet and learn and share. My husband and I were both city folks before we moved out to our current home on 41 acres. What were we thinking?? We've never looked back, but...sometimes wish for the closer proximity of friends and events that only a city can offer. We still have family in Columbus that we visit almost weekly so stay connected that way. But there's nothing like sitting on the front porch and watching the fog roll in across the meadow down the hill from our house, or walking down the looong driveway to get the local paper, or looking up and seeing all the stars we never knew existed when we lived in town. I wouldn't trade this place for anything!!

Aren't chickens just great? Sooo entertaining to watch--your Cole is probably having a ball. I'm excited that we'll be picking up our new chickens tomorrow afternoon--answered an ad in our paper for year-old Golden Comets and Rhode Island Reds. We'll be getting at least 15--it's been since December 2012 that we had chickens. Weasel got into the coop and wiped them out--sad. But we're ready to start again.

What hobbie do you have? What else keeps you busy and enjoying life besides your wonderful family? Looking forward to getting to you know better.

Again, welcome!

Liz
