This WAS my place in St. Ignatius, Montana. We tried selling, we tried a short sale, and 2 and a half years later we turned it over to the bank. :( I'm sure it will come up on a foreclosure sale at some point. So sad to let it go but there was no way to keep it. Now on to trying to re-build our credit. I will miss this little place that was a home for 4 years and where my babies were born, learned to walk, and talk.

50x150 lot with the back portion fenced. 2 bedroom 1 bath built in 1912.

We redid the breakfast nook in maple hardwood just before we moved. The rest of the softwood floors will need refinished sometime soon. Water heater was new in 2012, paint was new in 2008 for most of the house and the nook was painted in 2012 as were the kitchen cabinets. Laundry room has marble tile for the floor and bedrooms have carpet. Propane heat. Comes with a range and refridgerator. There is a root cellar, established gardens, 1 car garage and the empty lot next door has 5 plum trees and 2 apple trees that we always shared with the neighbor across the empty lot.

Edibles on the property include: Elderberry, Red Lake Currant, an orange currant (no idea the variety but it came from my mom), hops (if they actually took hold), and two raspberry plants.

Decorative plants include: roses, lilacs, hollyhocks, clematis, russian sage, mixed wild flowers, comfry, lemon thyme (also edible), poppies, columbine, peonies, and mint (also edible).

The lilacs in front of the porch. Oh I love that smell.

The flowers have since been painted over on the cabinets but the yellow is still there. I miss my little yellow kitchen. :)

This is the new flower bed of perenials I put in. There are hollyhocks, clematis, roses, poppies, and probably several self seeded annuals in here. I had nastursium (why can't I remember how to spell that today?), cosmos, and sunflowers in here as well.

I have a few more photos if anyone would like as well. I miss my little place dearly in many ways but it is time for our family to move on. Oh, and there is a full stand up in attic.

How cute! Cozy looking, too!! What's the square footage? Just wondering.

1040 sq feet. Attic could be finished to add about 600-700 sq feet but we never got to that. We would have had we stayed in the area.

Nice looking piece of property. Too bad you have to sell it.

I wish I didn't need to sell it but we've moved and can't afford to keep two houses. So my lovely little small-town Montana house needs to go. I just hope she finds someone who appreciates the edibles and the small town life. I do miss knowing everyone at the post office and grocery store and I miss my mechanic, resteraunt, and little thrift store that are all within a block or two of the house.

I'm totally showing this to my hubby. Although Montana is the wrong direction we wanted to move, but I'm showing him anyway. It's so cute, and I'm totally excited about all the edibles.

I just checked out your Etsy sight Sarah. What cute critters. I could see them selling well in the Missoula/St. Ignatius area. Missoula supports some good sized farmer's markets. Saturday alone has 3 big ones within a few blocks of each other that do well. There are also markets on Sunday, Wednesday evening, and on Thursdays and Fridays in some of the smaller towns in the area. I miss all of the markets there. I didn't realize how used to it I had gotten and how I took them all for granted. *sigh* Guess I'll just have to find a way to spruce up the market around my new town. :)

And one more with a little more information about Missoula and the markets. http://www.makeitmissoula.com/2011/04/leah-lewis-missoula-farmers-market-starts-april-30th/

Missoula sits about 30-40 minutes from the house. Missoula is where I worked when we lived there.

I've been to Missoula when we took our Western state trip a few years ago. We fell in love with the area! The house is charming, the right size for a starter home or a retirement place. I'm sure you are really torn about having to sell. Good luck with the sale.

Cute! I'm not planning to move anywhere, but sure looking inviting.
And, I think that's the same shower curtain that I have in my bathroom!

In many ways I wish I could have moved my house with us. We had done things like upgraded the propane stove to much nicer looking and more efficient model that made winter time much nicer than it was our first year there. Oh well. I just hope that someone will fall in love with it as much as we did. I love the light in the winter from all the large windows on the South side of the house. Sunny days were the best in there.

I would love to see this house go. It keeps tripping us up for getting another mortgage to buy a place in our new state. Argh! We haven't had it rented long enough for it to be considered an income property. How goofy is that? Oh well. I just hope someone finds it and falls in love.

Sorry. Montana to Texas is one heck of a trip. Too bad you don't want to move to Montana. I'll see what I can dig up for photos. I may have to hit up my hubby's computer. I think that is where they are stored. :) Glad you like it. I loved the 4 years we lived there. If we hadn't needed to move we would be very happy there still.

Sorry I haven't gotten pictures up. We are right in the middle of moving. I'm not really sure where anything is other than "in a box" somewhere. I'll get some up when I find them. I really will. ;)

It's right up my alley, but darn if Montana is too far from everyone we hold dear. I love the lilacs and the edibles, and the size is just perfect for our little family of three. Montana is sure gorgeous, but our inlaws and my mom have enough trouble with my sil living 2 hours from here...can't imagine they'd be too thrilled with us, either!

Best of luck to you--someone will snap that up in a heartbeat.

Too bad. But hey, if you know of anyone moving to Montana let them know. The Missoula area has great farmer's markets, CSAs, and being in St. Ignatius you can get away from the larger town of Missoula and still be close enough to enjoy the amenities of the big town. Air service, shopping, etc.

Your house is super cute! I live in the Great Falls area. I will keep it in mind if anyone I know is looking to move west! My husband's job is based out of GF, boo, otherwise I would make him take a looky loo! Good luck!

Gosh!! I think I have sat here for 20 minutes just gazing at these pics. Is it alright if I keep copies of them, for future reference? Lovely, lovely, lovely.

Sure. Glad you like it and thanks for asking about the pictures! If only someone would come along and buy her... I miss her but there is no way to keep it. *sigh* I really don't miss living in town though. :) I grew up in the country and have finally made it back to the country. Now this cute little house with the beginnings of my urban-ish farm (I still wouldn't call a town of around 800 really urban) needs to go to someone else.
