Thinking of getting my hair cut.....about 9-10 inches off. I tried to take a photo of the length, in case I can get in today.

Kristina, what made you decide to cut that much off? I'd love to see a picture of how long it was and how short you cut it.

I cut my hair 3 weeks tomorrow. I cut off 18 inches, now it is short. I love it, much less work, just wash and run. Mine is curly though. It feels so much better, and makes me look alot younger too.

Kristina, you have lovely hair and such a pretty color too Mine was just a little darker before it started to silver up. My hair was waist length and it was doing ok for a while, but just last summer it had grown so dry and ratty and nothing that I did with it helped, then my hands stared to become arthritic and I decided to cut it really short. It's now in a short boy cut and I love it. No more 2 hours drying time and trying to keep it out of my way to do anything.

Your hair is lovely and such a pretty shade. If you decide to cut it, will it be donated to the cancer center? They use the donated hair to make wigs for cancer patients. That's what I did with mine.

Yes - I have donated twice before, and so has another daughter. My 16 yo may cut off enough to donate also tomorrow.

I am tired of blow drying this winter too. In the summer it's no big deal, but I freeze around here in the winter if I don't blow dry it.

Before (with the morning sun)

After (in the shade, so my hair looks darker than it really is)

I can let my hair as is now, put it up, curl it, or do an up-do. Boy I feel so much lighter.

Kristina, I felt sad when I read you were cutting your hair. I still regret cutting mine years ago.

However, your new "do" turned out just lovely!

Wow! You look fantastic! I just had my long hair cut short last weekend and donated. I love my new hair cut and it feels wonderful. (And I'm already saving a ton of $$$ on hair product too!)

Don't worry, I'm sure I'll be busy and let it grow out, and not on purpose. It grows fast, but boy does this short "do" feel great!!!

Thanks. I can let it dry as is, flat iron it or curl it, or still put it up in a pony. In the photo, my hair stylist used a flat iron.

Thanks everyone! It's so curly when I allow it to dry on it's own. With all that length, I didn't see the natural curls.

I do feel better. I can always grow it out over summer (easier to put up in a bun for garden work), but I am really enjoying it. It's time for a few changes this fall. :)

I love your new haircut! You look refreshed, rejuvenated, and younger. Just like when you know it is time to harvest, you must have gotten the urge to trim away excess. You really look great!
