Thanks y'all. They are pretty girls but oh are they stinkers! And spoiled just a little bit. They are going to make some really good milk goats. I just don't have the room to keep them another year til they can be bred. I so hope I can find someone close by who'd want them. I have them priced a little higher than normal because I want some serious people, not someone who will turn around and re sell them. And I will not go down on the price. This might take awhile.

Kris, I posted a link to your blog post on a goat-specific forum I am part of, perhaps there's someone there who'd want them. :)

Thank you, Lindsey. Every little bit helps. I am going to post on Craig's list too.

They really are sweet little girls and will make someone 2 really good milk goats in a few years. Just don't want to wait that long. I'll have to find another milk goat soon. Adabelle just isn't working out. I'll keep her til I think she's bred, then she'll have to go back.

I put an ad on Craig's list last night. I really don't want anyone to call who thinks they can talk me down on the price to re sell them. So many people do that around here. I want someone who is serious and will keep them forever. I know it will take some time to find the right people but they will come. I sold 2 doeslings several years ago at that price to a doctor for his daughter. Wish me luck, I'll need a lot!

They are doing very well. I am taking them to be fixed Sunday through a mobile vet called Rascal. I have never used them before but they are suppose to do the spaying for a lot less money. It will be almost an hour drive to take them thats the only bummer. I hope they are good and my Darla and pups do well.

How old are they? I didn't think they spayed or neutered til at least 6 months old.

I went toHoobly and put an ad on it. When I got done I looked it up and I had put $15,000. Had to hurry and figure out how to fix that huge mistake. I did. Good grief! ANyway, thanks. There are goats for sale all over the country. And about the same rice too so I don't feel like it's way too high a price. But I don't want just anyone to be calling trying to get them cheaper so they can re sell them, like they do a lot around here. I hate that. I am not backing down on that price. The right people will come along soon enough.

But they are dirving me crazy with all the whining and all. They are noisy! And Sandy got away from me tonight and ran across the yard straight to her bratty kid. Took me too long to catch her because I was mad. I have got to calm down when stuff like that happens. So they just might go for free.

I had a call the other day from a guy from Dalton, Ga. I guess that was too far to come get goats. And it was a guy too. I wasn't sure about that.

So I put the ad back up a few days ago. I had a call today from a lady in Alabama. She said she just fell in love with Brie, the Nubian. She raises Nubians. She 's never had Lamanchas though and is really not sure about them. She asked a lot of questions. I really enjoyed talking to her. She said she wanted to check with her husband first. he's a truck driver. Mine is too! And she will send pictures of her barns and pastures. And she told me she would keep them separated for a few weeks in an area that they can see her goats and be near them but be protected. She does have another little doeling their age too. ANd she said she could send a deposit. So she sounds really promising. I hope I hear back from her. She said she really appreciated what I said at the end of my ad. She would have said the same thing. So I hope she calls back and can come get them. I really feel like she would be a great goat momma for them.

Kris have you had any luck, did that lady call back on your goats?
I had an interesting time selling my nubians on craigslist,I got some strange calls, some tire kickers who would try to drive me down on price, one lady even tried to insult their bloodlines and act like they were just junk (I know they were not, they were actually great bloodlines)in order to get me to come down on price then got angry when I told her that I would not sell them to her if she thought they were just junk, apparently she wanted my "junky" goats pretty bad, people are funny.
I hope it works out, hang in there, sometimes it takes time but stick to your price and you'll find the home you want for them,I eventually sold my does to a great gal who has a nice little organic farm and sells cajeta at the farmer's market, they landed well and I got what I wanted for them though I do miss having goats,I plan to get some Alpines eventually.

Kathryn, I have not heard back from her. I went ahead and posted again. I always put down that I will not answer any texts at all only real phone calls. And that I will not go down on the price. That if they can't afford it, don't bother calling at all. So I will wait and like you hopefully the right person will see the ad. I only want the serious people calling. There are crazies out there for sure. And I will not go down on the price. I think pricing higher gets the serious people. And if I don't sell them, that's ok. Breeding season will be over in a few weeks and the bucks will be at new farms breeding others so I can put them back with the dry does again. I really do love these girls. I could use the money too. So whatever happens, I'm ok.

Kris I'm sure it will work out soon, sometimes it just takes time,I'm like you,I won't answer texts, most people that text are really just wasting your time,I don't have any patience for that, serious buyers ask serious questions and don't fool around with texting ,they call!
I'm trying to sell my last buck,I initially kept him as a companion for Raven's pet goat Wilson but we're getting another little Nigerian Dwarf whether to go with him so I figure I'm going to sell Nubian buck so someone can get some use out of him,he's a nice buck out of my Ginnie doe and will make someone a nice buck.
I've had a few inquiries about him but no one has come out yet to take a look,I could use the money from him too,we've got baby coming soon, maybe sooner than we initially thought because I have gestational diabetes and baby is in a breech position, they're going to try and turn him in a couple weeks which could cause stress and cause him to be delivered early so I'm trying to get ready, just in case.
Anyways, hang in there, your does will find the right home,I have people all the time asking me if I have any does or doelings for sale so there is always someone wanting them and they'll find you!

Good luck selling your buck, Kathryn. I'll probably keep both mine another year then sell the Lamancha and butcher the Boer. Well, might do that sooner. Although, we had a little Pygmy buck we butchered and he was pretty old and he was really good. So who know. I am just at that place where I need less. I am selling all my older hens. A guy called and wants them all but didn't have all the money so came today and got 6 hens and the rooster. He'll come back next week for the others. That'll leave me with 18 young hens and a roo. And then the end of Oct. I'll be butchering the Freedom Ranger meat birds. That'll be 50 less chickens. Then the 3 rams will go to the butcher. So that's a lot less animals there. Anyway, that's where I am at right now. And then thinking about getting a Border Collie puppy the end of December.

Well shoot. I keep forgetting to say something about the new baby coming. I hope he is able to hang on a little longer after being turned around. And that all goes well for both of you. Can't wait to hear when he gets here! Take care til then.

Wow Kris, sounds like you have alot of critters running around,I had a bunch going on like that too but I recently got rid of my rabbits after years of raising them and then I sold my Nubian does with the plan of getting back into Alpines or trying Oberhaslis sometime soon.I just didn't want to do the winter routine this year with a newborn and last year the Nubians seemed to get every ailment they could from pneumonia,ketosis,etc..then kidded a bunch of bucks so I was really burnt out on them.
It was liberating to downsize but I miss them all too,I hope I can find some nice Alpines and get things back to normal next Spring or Fall.
I will let you all know how things go with baby, right now we're just waiting, thanks for the well wishes!
