Grab a box of kleenex and settle in to read this essay by Linda M. Frank on her gardening life and the end of her father's life. It is so poignant and loving and I can relate to it totally, as I'm sure many of you will too.

Hello all. I've been remiss in acknowledging and thanking you for the links here on MJF to my column/stories on Farm & Garden. Not to mention the very gracious and thoughtful comments.

Although not a farmgirl/woman by birth or nature, but a gardener, my heart and hands are most at peace when in the soil or writing about it. :)

Lately, my hands have been more preoccupied with getting the garden back on its feet. My hands, my back, my knees, hips...Ugh! But the journey is always worth it. It's never about 'the goal'. Gee, I wouldn't know what the goal was anyway?? To me that'd mean the garden had achieved a perfect status and was complete. Uh....not!! My garden is like me: Always room for improvement and a constant work in progress.

Thanks again for referring and reading. I should get on May's column.....but it's too beautiful outside today to keep my hands on the keyboard. They need to get some dirt under their "alleged" fingernails. Hah!

Linda

Here's another good essay on kids and gardening and stress. Very well written and I can certainly relate. How bout you?

Ditto! I really enjoy her writings.
