Hi all,
Does anyone have any special/fun/interesting/EASY craft ideas that my 7 year old son can make for his Christmas gifts? He loves making his gifts for people- last year every lady on his list got a handmade "Button Bracelet". They were a hit. This year he though about maybe sachets and stitchless pillows, but he isn't sold on it, and we would both love more ideas-
Any thoughts?

Yeah, that is where I found the directions to make my Crashing Witch for Halloween. They have great ideas.
Also, what about simple baking or cooking...does he like to help in the kitchen?
Or, coupon books for services like helping in the yard, walking pets, etc. He could put a picture of the activity on a page and then sign his name to validate the coupon!

I had my daughter make "stained glass" stuff one year... colored tissue paper glued onto cheap (dollar store) glass votives- they are really pretty when you have a candle shining through the colors. Another one like that is to use coloring in elmer's glue on a shape- like draw a star or something on wax paper (with a pen or pencil), then have him "color" the drawing with the colored glue. Make it kind of thick. When it dries, it can peel off and become a pretty suncatcher.
Jeez... is it already time to think about Christmas??? Oh no!

so many great ideas .. and to encourage him to make the 'sachets' .. perhaps you could sew the bags .. and have him help mix the pot pourii (from your garden if you can) ... run ribbon through the bags and have him tie them with something cute attached.

oh ... kids love to STAMP .. you two can make some great little 'tags' for him to attach. lots of idea books in the crafts stores for tags these days!

My nephews took oreos and dipped them into either chocolate or melted white candy and then rolled them in crushed candy canes to make the best cookies.
They also took pretzel sticks (the big log ones) and dipped the tips of those into chocolate and then sprinkles.
Then they took Ritz crackers, made peanut butter sandwiches out of them and dipped those in chocolate too.
What a yummy cookie box!
This year I think they might try dipping fortune cookies into chocolate.

| Oh- I thought of another one. I've been saving those round metal ends from the frozen juice DH likes to drink. I want to let dd decorate the end (paint, glue pics, whatever) then drill a hole in each one, string them and turn them into windchimes. I think that would be neat. You could also use a variety of store-bought craft items, like wooden beads or seashells. |

My grandmother did something like carolina girls idea only a little differnt you take those same lids punch a hole in them cut old christmas cards and seasonal pictures to fit inside the circle and glue them in place ( modge podge style decopage) and lace beads buttons sequins what ever we did this for our school teachers when I was little we also did this with enpty tuna cans and shallow tins with these we made small christmas vinyetts ( sp).

Thanks so much everyone for the help! Noah (my 7) and I have already perused the site suggested, and talked about the other ideas here and he is so excited- and of course wants to try everything! Whew- that could be a bit more than I bargained for- ha. We'll have to try them all over time though.
