I just returned from the first day of the GRAMKC (Grand Rapids Area Machine Knitting Club) fall knitting "retreat" and my head is spinning!

It was amazing. There were so many yarns and demonstrators and techniques. This year they mixed it up with handknitters also and I think it benefitted from the mix of ideas. I noticed one of the handknitting shops was selling Bond knitting machines.

I could not attend the second day because I wanted to be at my grandson's first birthday party, but attending just one day was still well worth the trip.

I attended a total of four sessions with Trish Schafer and Cathy Sanders on using Design-A-Knit software. I am so inspired I plan to upgrade to the new version right away, as soon as Cathy gets back to Tennessee. I also attending a session with Lesley Solomon as the instructor on fixing knitting machine mistakes.

The fashion show and banquet was awesome. Some of the garments were just drop-dead gorgeous. Alpacas, cotton and wools - these are all farm products, girls!

The Grand Rapids knitters really work hard to keep the seminars affordable. They also have a spring workshop which is very reasonable (I think it is free for members of the club, and they allow "remote" memberships)

If you knit, either hand or machine, I really recommend joining a fiber arts club of some type since the inspiration from others really helps to keep you inspired. And attending the seminars that the club puts on is so inspirational.

You shall eat the fruit of the labor of your hands - You shall be happy and it shall be well with you. -Psalm 128.2
