I live in the middle of a busy city right now, but outside my bedroom window is a giant ancient tree that has actually survived the urban sprawl. Anyway, in the Spring I sleep with the windows open at night just to get woken up by the roar of birds coming to life at about 5.30am. I love that even though I'm surrounded by thumping bass stereos and car alarms the one thing that can wake me up from a dead sleep is this Spring ritual!
