I have a large manila envelope all ready to go. It is full of flower and vegetable seeds. I had so much fun with a craft round robin recently that I thought this would be fun. The rules are simple.
1.Take only what you need and leave excess to share with others. 2. Add as much new stuff as you can. 3. Try to mail out promptly. (we did within 1 week for craft RR but I would like to see this go a little faster so everyone has time to enjoy it before it is too late to plant.)
I will limit it to the 1st 10. I can mail it out as soon as I get the first taker. Please email me your address and we will get it going.
No Plants...just flower and garden seeds.

Sandy, I just now got the seeds. You sure did pack them in there. So now, if there is something I want, can I keep the whole baggie or should I leave some for the others? I probably don't need ALL of most of them but like the beets, I would like all of those. And maybe half of some of the flower seeds. And maybe a few squash and watermellon seeds. Anyway, I am rambling. So just let me know how much to take. And thank you!

Sandy, how did you get by with just .71 for postage? I had to pay $5.50 plus buy a new mailer. Over $7.00. And I only took a few seeds but added alot more. So it is off to the next person who I cannot even remember. Someone in Texas. Anyway, we just had a nice storm with hail and pouring rain. So it will be next week before I can plant anything here. I got 6 of the Hubbard squash. I have never planted any before. And a few watermelon and some of the cantaloupe and marigold seeds. And some of the beets. Can't wait to plant them now.

Kristen, It costs me about $3.50, so not sure why it showed .71. Sorry the mailer costs so much, I hope you got enough to make it worth while.

Linda I have you down. I was hoping to stop at 10 but if this moves fast we will count you in. Just want it to make the rounds before spring planting time is gone. Thanks everyone! Sandy

Sandy, I sure did not mean that to sound like it did. Sorry. Yes, I think I got some good seeds from you. Thank you. I have never grown the Hubbard squash. Please tell me what I should do to plant them. Like how big does the plant grow and how far to space them. Are they like a pumpkin or a squash? And when to harvest them. Do they keep producing or do they only produce a few. ANy info would be great.

Kris

not a problem Kristen. Just want everyone happy. You other girls might consider one of the small flat rate priority boxes (a little bigger than a video tape) I think that costs less than $6 to mail and the box is free of course. Just a thought.

Hubbard squash are a winter squash, plant after danger of frost is past.
They vine all over the place, like a pumpkin, treat them similar, leaving on the vine until threat of frost. Store in a cool dry place.
I harvest in late Oct and these will usually store until Jan or Feb.
Then I steam and freeze the pulp, great in muffins, quick bread, as a side dish with butter, cinnamon and honey...YUM! You can find more info by doing a search "How to grow hubbard squash. Hope this helps.

Ps the only trouble I have had is occasionally the squash bugs get them. They will be big and strong, then all of a sudden they wilt and die. Try planting maigolds close by.

dreaming of my gardens, email me your address and I will see what I can do. I am going to see if I can put together more seeds and maybe divide the list in half. Then when they make full circle and get back to me if everyone wants to I will switch the boxes with the lists and send the new boxes to the other girls. At least that way we can each have a shot at it before spring gets ahead of us. I have 15 on my list so that will make 8 for each box counting me. I will see if I can find some more seeds.
