Do you still love the idea of paper dolls?? I know I do...There is something so sweet and vintage about them...
Well, what about making one......Here's the plan..

*********************************************************************

Partners:

Connie~~tammyc
Beth~~ruthie218
Beth~~Jill Skane
fille de ferme~~buzzn bee
CindyLous~~coaloha

*********************************************************************

For this swap you will make a girl paper doll. Just one doll, approximatly 8 inches tall..
Then make 1 vintage, shabby chic, or farmgirl outfit for the doll.
Next you will make 1 ballgown for your doll...do a total of 2 outfits for the doll....
You can draw, cut out, or stamp the face for your doll. The doll need to be on cardstock, cereal box cardboard for the back of the doll or good heavy paper..and she need to stand....Remember your old paper doll with the tabs at the bottom to make her stand.
The outfits can be made from paper, fabric, ribbon, old hankies just however you choose to dress your doll.
Of course, do your best work.
One partner and you will contact your partner at the end of the signup.
Signup ends February 15th Mail out by March 10th
Have fun!!

Hi Tammy, You should just try your hand at making one or two and see how they turn out...You can cut out the face from a magazine or such and make the clothes from paper or fabric....It might start a whole new craft adventure for you!! Smiles

Ok, I'm interested in this. I have two thoughts running through my head, do these need to be fancy, as in art doll fancy, or paper doll fancy? That may not make sense, I will try and explain. For papaer doll fancy I think about some dolls I played with when I was little that were wood and basically gingerbread shaped. I made some several years ago out of posterboard with yarn hair, clothes from felt and wall paper, is this what you mean. The real fancy I think would be slimmer and more people shaped?

What I gotta stop doing, is scrolling down the swaps, looking for Beth's name! I can't resist her swaps!!! I emailed Tammy and told her to do what I will do, since I cannot draw worth a flip. I will trace my Vinatge Paper doll on to Cardstock! Then make her clothes!!

PADDY CAKE :) Oh ! Connie thank you for posting the Sears catalog :) What year is it from ? I have one from 1957 & I just love it & have spent many hours looking through it ;) Tammy, I will gladly help you also ;) Last night I made a little stand for my doll, I remembered that the store bought dolls had stands. Some were attached to the doll & others were plastic. NO ONE has to do make a stand, I am just goofy like that LOL I also have to say that I have learned from my Farm Sisters to spread my wings, craft wise. I always look forward to see all the creative works of art from them :)

LOL So glad ya'll are having fun...I am too....Things in this old world are so dreary, it is nice to have something to take our minds off things for a little while....Smiles, Beth
