My family is presently doing the GAPS diet from the book Gut and Psychology Syndrome. It is supposed to be very helpful for those on the Autistic spectrum.
I was wondering if anyone else here is doing it?
hugs,
Terri

I have an online friend from another forum who has had great success using GAPS for her family - including her autistic son. Here's a link to her site where she shares videos of his improvements:

Thank you for the link Deb, I will go and visit her blog for sure.
April, we have been on intro stage 4-5 for the last 2 months. We started stage 1 in August. It is taking a while to get out of intro as my son has some difficult issues. But we have had major improvements. We wouldn't go back any time soon as we want him to keep the healing he has acquired so far, and we are hoping he has even more healing soon. We learned to make great bone broth, and our own home made yogurt too. I am also making the kefir as well. It was a learning experience for sure! But being a farm girl at heart, making things from scratch is what I do anyways! Yay! So I was up for the challenge. I am working on improving my sauerkraut!
Hugs,
Terri

That's great! It's great to hear your son is improving already! How exciting!

To be honest, I'm a little nervous to dive into this because of the extra work involved, but I have been slowly incorporating NT philosophies into my cooking anyway, so I suppose it'll be a rather easy transition once I am adept at cooking differently. So many things to think about! I get overwhelmed sometimes with all the ins and outs of these things and need to just march forward with mastering something instead of getting paralyzed!

My hubby and I will be making yogurt tonight and I have my second batch of Kombucha brewing. I have sourdough on the counter and I want to get something made with it tomorrow, so I need to look at my sourdough recipes so it can soak tonight! :) Well, time to go get dinner ready!

Hi April, I know what you mean. Eating only from scratch does take a great deal of time. But it is getting easier now that some of the jobs have become second nature. So yes, it will get easier with time. Thank goodness!
Mmmmmm sourdough! I am not at that level yet, but I look forward to it.
Hugs,
Terri
