you need to put up hot wire between her horse and the other horses, cause it will just keep happening, I had one horse that would pull fly masks off everyone else, and destroy them, had to corral her seperate. Its a pain but a must, also make sure your daughters horse is not rolling in her blanket and tearing it up that way...

Bluebonnet Equine Rescue in Texas had a huuuuge array for horse balnkets at their yard sale in October, I'm sure they still have some. I'm not sure if they sell/ ship other than during the annual sale, but it may be worth trying to find out if they do.

Kristina, I would call Bluebonnet. They have a big storage where all the sale stuff is, and might make a sale. Or try ebay, craigslist, etc.

I have a gently used size 84' I could sell if you still need one? I would speak to the stable owner about seperating your daughter's horse from the others, especially if it is repeatedly getting picked on. It is their responsibility to make sure your daughter's horse has a safe environment. Not only is it adding expenses for you, but it is dangerous, and could be traumatic for the horse in the long term. |

I had a grulla mare who just shredded blankets off of herself and other horses,I finally traded her off last year, she was a good riding horse but I disliked her personality,my corral calmed down quite a bit when she left here. There is a bitter spray you can use to discourage a horse that bites on blankets,I can't remember what it is called or where to get it,I probably got it from Jeffers since I order from them frequently, that might help a little bit though but won't do anything for the quick snatch and rip that horses sometimes do out in the field or keep the horse from shredding it against the fence. I only use blankets for my Daughter's geriatric pony anymore and he's real easy on them but I've found my horses do well without them even in very severe weather so this has eased some of my blanketing woes.
