Hello and happy Thursday. We had a couple more inches of snow overnight. The road is a mess. Apparently the snow plow came by, and a neighbor parked along the road as we are on a hill, and it was easier for him to drive away if he parked along the road rather than his driveway. Well, the plow made a big mess all over his car and scratched it. Neighbor is very angry and said he was going to sue the city/county/whatever. So my son had talked about parking on the road as well, but after he heard that story, he changed his mind. I don't blame him.

Currently, it is about 32 and we are having some melting. The icicles sure are fun to look at!

Krissy, I'm glad you are melting on your side of the mountains. I'm also hoping that it doesn't take too long for the warmer air to get over here.

Hi Betty and everyone!

It's 25 F this morning and everything is still frozen. The walkway by the front door is an ice rink as the water coming off the roof yesterday somehow landed there. Hubby had to put down de-icer so we won't slip and break our necks. He said the plow came by again and the road looks better. We do need to go to the store and pick up some things.

I also heard that we may get more snow on Saturday.

New Years Resolution? I'm giving up snow!!!
Couldn't decide what to wear to the living room last night, so I went to bed instead of to the party and woke up to minus ten degrees!!

It is cold here too. It was 14 when I woke up and is now 23. I'm ready for spring that is 76 days or so away. In about to days I'm starting my garden plants inside. It's sure to be warmer then.

I have the hot chocolate to go with that Baileys :) I think I'll have to deliver it personally so I can get some of that snow. It's cold and windy here - below zero wind chills, but no snow. Saturday we have a 90% chance of rain and 40 degrees then it gets cold again and you guessed it - sunny :(

OK Grace and Heather, are you going to share that hot chocolate and Baileys?
This was the view from my kitchen window December 26

This is the same view today BEFORE it started dumping again big time!!

Where's that Baileys?

So what did you think of my kitchen window views from December 26 and then again yesterday? Lotsa white stuff you say? Take a look at today's view . . . . . . .and before you ask, No. we don't have two suns up her in northern Idaho, that's the flash reflection in the window.

I've downloaded plans for a dog sled. Now I just need to get DH out to the shop to build it. But for some odd reason he prefers sitting by the fire reading and sipping a hot toddy . . . oh well, we're well stocked and don't need to go anywhere. LOL.

It is getting better all the time. Below freezing for a few days, it is now 40 degrees and the large amount of snow is receding. I am grateful for that. I have been blessed with a kind neighbor that has used his snowblower to clear my sidewalk and driveway. Today it is supposed to get up to 45 degrees. I am finally being freed from my self-imposed prison. Going shopping before the next storm rolls through.

WOOOO HOOOO - we had what the weather radio refers to as a "trace" of snow fall last night!!!!! You can still see the blades of grass and leftover leaves, but there's some snow on the ground!!! Thanks for sending it my way ladies LOL!

Jean - LOL! I'd love to go on a sled dog ride someday. Not sure I'd like it to be my main means of transportation, but it sure would be a fun ride (at least I think it would).

Grace & Betty - sounds messy out there! If I didn't have to go milk the cows I'd join you on staying in and crafting all day. I'm having some sewing withdrawal LOL!

I can remember my Grandpa coming in the house smelling like his cows. On a winter day he would snuggle with them to keep warm. He had only five cows and milked them by hand.

We really haven't any snow to speak of and definitely nothing that stays. One day we have 40s and the next teens or low 20s. Lots of colds going around.
I really though there would be more snow here but I believe southern NJ where we moved from has gotten more snow this year. Maybe we will still get some before winter is over. I'm hoping anyway.
