Vanessa, thanks for the info on the coconuts. Do you or are you able to extract any meat from them, or the milk?

There was quite a bit of water in them, but I didn't Crack them open for the meat.

Good morning. It's looking like we'll have another sunny and warm day here. I can almost hear the mud drying.

It is a beautiful day here in Minneapolis. The temperature will be in the 40's today so that means that for Minnesotans it's time to break out the shorts and t-shirts and slather on the tanning lotion. It's not too early to start.

It is going to be sunny and warm here today--about 70 degrees. Believe it or not, I have to start mowing before too long. I didn't get my last mow job done before leaving for California and now I will have lots of clippings. Yeah.

Betty enjoy mowing, I can't wait to mow the yard. It's around 62 degrees now, and the sun is out.

We've had lots of rain the last couple of days but it's needed so I know better than to complain ... except for the MUD! We tore the farm up to put in a new major water/sewer system to accommodate our B&B units. In many ways, it feels, no, it looks, like we're starting over. My strawberry patch is gone, my elderberry trees uprooted ... Oh well, new beginnings, right?

I did go for a long walk in the rain today and picked our very first daffodils of the season.

Our forecast is for MUD too! We had a pretty reasonable snowfall, then several days later lots of rain but not all the snow melted. Today is going to almost touch 70 degrees, so the snow will certainly be gone. All this equals lots of mud, and the potential for what I refer to as "Herman Munster feet" in the garden - when the mud cakes on your boots, then mud cakes on the mud, and it doesn't take long until every time you pick up your foot there is about 4-5 inches of stuff caked on the bottom and it looks like Fred Gwynne's platform boots on The Munsters.

MaryJane, it must be bittersweet to do the renovations; hard to see the old go but anticipation of something new and exciting battling for places in the heart and head. Hopefully reasonably paced progress toward the new will let the "sweet" overrule the "bitter".

I haven't picked any daffodils yet, but they are a-blooming in my yard. I can't believe how many different colors there are. Daffodils are like sunflowers, they make you smile.

It took me two days to mow my lawn. And I got a slight sunburn--didn't realize it until after my shower. The grass must have been 10 inches tall. There are a lot of bald spots where the leaves lay in clumps while I was gone to CA. I was exhausted after the first day of mowing, so decided to quit and get it done later. It's done now and is looking better. Needs some moisture though. I have to start digging up the garden in preparation for planting. The weather has been beautiful the past few days with sunshine and 70 degrees. It's a bit cooler today and partially overcast.

Overcast skies and air feels damp & a lot colder than it really is. Still too muddy to work in flower/herb beds.
