Woo Hoo Cindy, you are practically a next door neighbor instead of being half a world away. Welcome home.

Thanks Jean! Glad we arrived in the country as the summer season is emerging. There is a magical sense of renewed energy in the air.

It's July 10 and we are approaching the Dog Days of Summer and I'M COLD! I just had to go put on some sweats. Say what? I think Mother Nature is suffering from bi-polar disorder this year.

Since it is July here in the Tri-Cities, it is HOT! It's 94 at the moment. Too hot to work outside, so you do it in the early morning, such as daybreak.

We are predicted to hit triple digits this week in the Tri-Cities. Not out of the norm but we normally have a spring that gradually heats up. Just not this year.

Oh Karen, I'm not looking forward to those triple digits. It is hot enough in the 90's. Can't work outside and almost too hot to work inside. (I refuse to turn the thermostat down to be completely comfortable.) It will get better. Fall is on it's way and we won't have to mow either!

So true, Betty! It’s been tough acclimating since we really didn’t get a spring! Fall is my favorite as well but I do try to enjoy each season! :)

We are heating up this week but nothing like you girls are having. It has been in the low to mid 80s and getting up to high 80s this week. I'm sure that would feel cool to some of you. We don't get the humidity that many get but in August we can reach the 90s with the humidity and it will feel like the 100s. Right now I am enjoying the temps we have while we still have them.

It is just noon and already 94 degrees. It was 72 at my house at 6:30 this morning. My garden is baking in this heat.

It's 5:42 in northeast Texas and it's 106 - feels like 110.

This morning I wanted to change my A/C filter and when I pulled the old one out it was wet. I called Paris A/C and their repairman was here in twenty minutes. By then I realized the outside fan was not shutting off. He checked the fan and found that a capacitor had melted and was keeping the fan from shutting off and was causing the inside unit's coil to frost over. Don't know if it melted from the heat or an electrical problem. I'm just happy I wanted to change the filter instead of waking up in the middle of the night with no A/C and a floor full of water. I celebrated having A/C by ordering two wool applique patterns from Winterberry Cabin and taking advantage of their no shipping on select patterns and wool.

Oh Sara so glad you found that problem early. Yay for Winterberry, I love their patterns.

We have been super hot here and in the 100s. This high heat has caused our schools to only do half days. It's very unusual for us to be this hot right now. I would love to cool off just a little bit.

Hay there. Today in Dixie it has been nice with temps in the mid 80's. Tonight it will be 68 they say but in a couple of days the lows will be in the 50's. We have had scattered showers and the pastures are enjoying the moisture. The leaves are falling in abundance now so raking will be happening soon. I need to lay in firewood for the season too. How's the weather where you are? Hugs.

Happily we finally got a good soaking rain this morning in the Chicago area. It has been horribly dry and everything was beginning to brown. The sky is darkening again, so we may be in for round 2 of the days predicted rain. It is going to be low 60's for a few days for us. That will get me in the mood to bring up my glass pumpkins and take down the summer decor.

Hope everyone has a beautiful autumn!

Very smoky here. We have wildfires all around us. Will be nice when we have clear air. We could use some rain also.

It's getting cooler here and the landscape reminds me of the 1970s Harvest colors.
I told my Florida friends that it's a great time to visit Kentucky.
