Wow, Cindy, this new move sounds very exciting and it will be a fun change to have new places to explore.

Down here in north central Florida, I have two word for the weather now: HOT and HUMID. Yep Summer is here and it won't be going anywhere for the next 5 months. Hurricane season also starts June 1 and some predictions have it as an above average in activity this year. UGH! We also need rain badly. It has been very dry Winter and Spring .

So much rain is expected this weekend. We have plans to be outside with extended family, but it’s looking like plans will change. We do need the rain though.

We went from 80 yesterday to 69 today with rain and overcast. We can use the rain, what little there was. Looks as though it was enough to dampen the sidewalk. Nice to spend some time inside today.

Oh my, I feel like I'm back in Mississippi. We've been having some real gully washers here. Just had one monsoon pass through that sounded like it was gonna tear the house down. And, I'm deaf mind you LOL. Anyway DH checked his weather station stats which told him that last year we had 18" of precip total. This year, so far we've already had almost 15" and it's only June. WOW! While I do yearn for more sunshine, I really can't complain. The west has suffered drought and horrible wildfires the past few years. So the water is more than welcome.

We've enjoyed a mostly beautiful late spring here in the Chicago area. We've had mostly 70's with rain every few days. Summer however is itching to begin in earnest and they show upper 90's this week. I am hoping the heatwave clears out quickly and we got back to the gorgeous weather we've been enjoying. I'm not a fan of hot weather and anything 80 & below is perfect to me.

Violent thunder storm expected very soon here. Lovely local girl's wedding at 5pm -- And she's been planning for months a beautiful outdoor wedding. Family has scrambled to put up tenting, but still . . . my heart just aches for her. I've had to cancel attending -- I am just too unstable and would be a danger to myself and others stumbling around in the mud. Well, I guess it will be a funny story to share with her grandkids 40 years from now . . . . sometimes you just gotta laugh to keep from crying as "they" say . . .

Rain continues to pour down in the SE desert of Washington State. Rainiest spring I’ve spent here in 35 years. It’s so crazy.

I agree, it is very rainy in the desert of SE Washington State. But I am sure we will be able to put all the rain we have received to good use. It is a welcome treasure.

No rain today, sun came out and it was a nice 68 degrees, I can not complain. And I should not complain about the rain as we need all we can get, we do not want a bad fire season.

I'm missing winter! Heat index for today in the Chicagoland area is a humid 104. I hate staying indoors and miss my long walks and bike rides. Unfortunately the heatwave is supposed to hang around for about 10 more days. Maybe we will have a break on Saturday before the temps soar again.

It is supposed to get up to 81 today with lots of sunshine. While it is still 70's I'm trying to get the lawn mowed. Sure is a project. But I will succeed and summer is on its way. I'm really sad for the folks in the East that are suffering in severe heat.

Betty, so far, the dust has not made it to the Red River. I grew up in Dallas and we had horrific dust storms in the 1940s-into the 1950s.

Well, we are slowly getting settled here in Bend, Oregon. We've had some cool, rainy days since arriving at the beginning of June, but today the sun is shining and it's absolutely beautiful. I went running out on one of the nearby trails this morning and there were chipmunks darting everywhere and the birds were chirping. Sure, maybe I'm being biased, but this truly is a beautiful part of the world.
