Here is a typical Pacific Northwest recipe, combining Salmon and Dairy products. Plus it's easy, fast and the results pleasing!

Salmon Pie

1 Cup grated Cheese (cheddar or whatever is on hand)
1 Cup Mozzarella Cheese
1 Cup Cottage Cheese
1/4 lb. mushrooms sliced and sauteed in butter
2Tbsp. onion, sauteed in butter
1/4 to 1/2 cup Salmon, cooked and flaked (may also use canned)
GARNISH: Tomato, salt pepper, basil, Oregano, green onions(fresh or dried herbs)
Mix together cheeses, sauteed mushrooms, onions, salmon;put in a baked pie shell. Over the top, place tomatoe wedges. Sprinkle with salt, pepper, basil, oregano, and chopped green onions. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes. Cool 10 minutes.

Enjoy,
Pennie

I have an idea and welcome input from you all. I can't sit and sew for hours like I used to and would love to partake in some of the great swaps. Maybe this can be my way of contributing and participating with some of the wonderful people I have met here.
Since postage from Canada is comparatively cheap (cost me less than $2 to send two magazines to a farmgirl in NJ), I could make up a cookbook for everyone and mail them from here. Cost would obviously be based on how big this cookbook becomes, but would be absolutely at cost. We could call it "Farmgirls in the Kitchen" or "Farmgirl Connection Cookbook"...or maybe have input from Mary Jane so as not to infringe on her rights??

Anyway...what about dividing OUR cookbook into the following sections:

APPETIZERS
BEANS & VEGETABLES
BREADS AND MUFFINS
CAKES & PIES
COOKIES
DESSERTS & CANDY
EGGS & CHEESE
HOLIDAY FAVORITES
MEATS AND MARINADES
PRESERVES AND CANNING
SAUCES & DRESSINGS
SOUPS

I would want to include everyone's name and location and even a little bit about you (children, hobbies, claim to fame!) *IF* you would like, to make it a really personable cookbook.

So I need everyone's input and if everyone is in agreement, I would then start a new topic to let everyone know what we are doing and how to submit your recipes.

Di,
That sounds great! If everyone is on board, let us know a deadline so we can start gathering things together!! So exciting!

I checked with MaryJane about the idea, and she and all up at MJF are super excited about the idea! She offered that the "Farmgirl Connection Cookbook" was the name that would work the best - how does that sound to you all?

I'm in! Just let me know the rules, how many recipes you want, and how to submit the recipes. Especially if there are any restrictions on using recipes that have been published before, for example.

Thanks Julie, I did get the information. The main thing I am concentrating on at the moment is making our cookbook affordable for everyone...so, as fancy as I can find at a reasonable price. I have two quotes at the moment and am waiting for one more.
The website and their method sounds innovative and great, but I think it would be nicer to have more control over what we produce...the aim being something more personable than just simply a book of recipes and again, affordable.
I'm hoping for the quotes by the beginning of the week and we'll take it from there.

This sounds so great. Count me in for whatever do you. I have a lot of special recipes, but truthfully, since I found Mary Janes organic instant cook foods, I am using a lot of those in my meal planning.
