Hello MJ Farmgirls!

My house was built in 1957 and the tub has to be the original one in my farmhouse. It's large and very, very ugly. I thought about replacing it but to do that I have to take out an exterior wall so I'm stuck with it.

The tub itself is stained by the rust in our well water and it looks pitted. I'm pretty sure it's cast iron. I have tried all sorts of cleaners on it, I've used a sander with a buffer attachment, and used old fashion elbow grease and it still looks horrible.

Once while in a home improvement store they have tub restorer chemicals. Has anyone used it and if so did it improve the look of it?

Any suggestions?
Thank you in advance!!!

Cyn

Hello fellow Arkansan! I dont know the name of this place but my hubby said around here we have a company that refinishes old tubs. I think its called reglaze. He suggested looking that up on the internet. They might travel to you but sounds like that could get pricey. We are in benton county.
