We have been looking for acreage "up north" in michigan,lower side of "The Bridge" west or east side of the state either one...Does anyone know of anything for sale near them or at least "up north"? I'd really appreciate any leads or info you can share. Thanks! |

Have you been checking out unitedcountry.com and landsofmichigan.com? those are pretty good sites for all of the states I follow the market in. Craigslist.org can always turn up surprising good finds by owner too.

How many acres are you looking for? There is a lot of lots and lots with houses up by us, which is Atlanta Michigan on the East side in between Gaylord and Alpena. If you check on realtor.com and put in Atlanta Michigan you will have lots to look at. The taxes are goodin this area too... Oh yes we are about 1 hour from the bridge. I like the location cause we are half an hour to either side to a bigger community but nice and quiet here.

Dusky,I do alot of searching on Lands of Michigan,United doesn't cover Michigan that I know of unless that's changed recently.I'll have to try Realtor.com again...I tried it last week a few times and it kept telling me it had no listings in Michigan  I never thought of trying Craigslist might be worth a shot.
Beverly we're looking to find at least 10 acres and trying to stay no more than $50-$60 maybe if there's a house...but,less is better cost wise and landcontract is something we'd be interested in looking into. If the house needs work that's nopt a problem depending on what and how much. I'd be very greatful for any help you would be willing to give...hopefully in the next day or two I'll have a home computer again.

United country has a little, but Landsofamerica usually includes united's listings in it's searches, I just sometimes find them earlier or with different pictures by cross referencing. Craigslist would be a good place to check for for sale by owner properties, which would probably be your best bet for what you want.

Beverly,Thank you sooooo much! Some of these are GREAT! We both like a few of them and I will be trying to get ahold of the realtors tomorrow or Monday! We are definately looking at 10+ acres and we do need 3 bedrooms or space we can use as bedrooms. Again thank you! Any more you can send our way would be wonderful! |

My sister is moving up here next spring and bought her house about 2 1/2 miles from me and I did this same thing kept sending her a bunch everyday and once her co-worker was looking over her shoulder and said send that one on to me a couple of times. He co-worker and her husband ended up buying before my sister did and is not to far away from here too. was really funny, we laughed about that for days...so no problem...Hope I helped...will look again tomorrow....

I just got off the phone with one listing agent(the alpiney looking one)and left a message for another...the rest I'll have to wait till monday
Gee,maybe with you,your sister,her friend and if I come up there...we could have a farmgirl group!
