From Mimi Feuling, www.cascadecreekfarm.com:

"This is a wonderful farm and an excellent opportunity for someone looking to get going in farming.

Bonners Ferry has a growing Farmers’ Market, Sandpoint Farmers’ Market is just 45 miles south. There’s a good health food store in Sandpoint who’s looking for produce growers as well. Also in Sandpoint is a weekly on-line Farmers’ Market – Six Rivers Community Market.

Our neighbors are in poor health and need to sell their small acreage farm. We have lived near them for over 6 years and it is a wonderful piece of ground. They have really taken care of it and have, for the most part have managed it organically. I will list the features below.

23+- acres, 3 acre wooded, not harvested in quite a long time, 16 acres are in pasture/grass hay with high production, the rest is in garden, orchard, house and barns, etc.

Clark Creek, year-round, runs through the property and they have the only water rights to this creek. There are two waterfalls and hydro power is possible. They have a fully operable gravity fed irrigation system and have the creek plumbed to the house.

They have 2 large “Settlement” style barns, a chicken house, woodshed and a few other misc sheds. Barns store lots of hay and have stalls. One barn has been used primarily as a shop on the ground floor. All have good, metal roofs and one has large eaves for machine storage/animal shelter.

They have a large orchard of mature fruit trees – apples, pears, cherries, plums. Also red and golden raspberries, blueberries, grapes, rhubarb and more. They have an amazing garden which grows an abundance of produce each year. They have a black peat soil – very rich. All the neighbors call it “the Garden of Eden” for good reason. These folks are very generous in sharing with us.

The entire area around us is sub-irrigated. They grow more hay than they can feed to their small herd of cattle and graze the cattle there as well.

The house is about 2600 square feet. It has 4 bdrms, 3 baths, hardwood floors, a large kitchen, mud room, attached garage, good sized basement, root/fruit cellar and pantry. They can and preserve a lot, so it’s set up for this. Wood heat primary. The house is cedar sided.

The views are wonderful, it’s a beautiful place to live. They have an excellent well and the water is good.

Also in the barnyard/yard area are a squeeze chute, corrals, raised beds, lawn and flower beds.

I am happy to answer what questions I can, you can also call Clifford Utter, the owner, at 208-267-1458. He does not have email. He is asking $400,000.00. He and his wife would love to see someone buy it and love it as much as they have."

Wow! Dream farm is right. I could only dream of ever affording $400,000. It does sound like it's worth it. I hope they do find the right buyers who will keep it as is.

Dream farm, yeah I'm dreaming. I even have a aunt and uncle not far from there but unfortunately no money.

God bless,

I guess I am with everyone else. It sounds just like what we have been looking for. Moving is not the issue. Making the payments would be. If we could find a way we would be there in a heart beat.
