Fran,
So sorry to hear that you aren't feeling well, and on Thanksgiving of all times. Well you have just been too busy, and I heard you were taking care of some sick little ones, so I guess they were good enough to share their illness with you. Now if you lived you a little closer I could send you over a plate.
Get some rest, and don't take on more then you should, sometimes you have to put yourself first in order to be of use to everyone around you.

well, everyday is a blessing, but thanksgiving was a little unusual for us as it had to be cancelled the day before as omie got sick.
i vowed it wouldnt happen but apparently i am not in charge of everything.

so today, friday i am feeling better, right and since the kids all have to work today my abeloved olivia and deven are here with me.
pawpaw gave them a little talk about taking care of omie since i am sick, but we will see.
they are too sweet and probably the best medicine for me. i hope i just dont want to go to sleep while they are here. i will have them til 3:00. wish me luck.then i will have 2 days for sure were i will get to rest and get over this. i dont like being sick!

hi sunshine,
i am for all practical purposes, well, but i still feel a bubble or two off plumb.
this is my first attempt to post pics and im bein kinda goofy.
i am working on things to take to dallas next weekend. some hand made items and some of my flea market treasures. wanted to post more pics but im not doing real great at it.
i have been making acorns pincushions and these bags that arre usually called ruffle duffles. they remind me of carpetbags.
i had to get away from the cedar sawdust cause with the flu i was just coughing too much. anyway, all in all things are going much better here. i did post on my blog this week, but today it doesnt want to let me in.
oh well, ill try another time.
how are things going for you? i am gonna go check your thread. talk with ya later.

Hi Fran,
I wrote on your blog but it wouldn't let me on. Anyway, glad to see your post, you haven't been around for a while. Love those houses you are going to fix up, just think of all the cute things you can do to them. When are you starting that BIG project.
Make sure you post some picutes of the things you are making, you never know when one of us will want to buy something.

Fran- Love those pictures! But even more I love the wonderful package I received from you: acorn pin cushions, wrist "corsage" pin cushion and big fat pin cushion. The fabrics, the colors, the workmanship; just delightful! I'm only sorry I am giving most of them away! I will have to reorder after the holidays! They are sooooo cooool! Also sorry I don't have photo posting capabilities yet, you would LOVE them girls! "Wonderful, wonderful!!!" Thank you Miss Fran!

glad to hear from you ladies, and so glad to be back from the land of the flu.
i have started crafty on a small scale in preparation for the dallas flea market which i am doing with my friend.
on page 17 of this thread and on my blog there is one pic of some of the things i am working on. i think it is mostly more of the same, except for the "carpetbags" which are new and in the development stage.
i think if you look at them on the blog sight and click on the pic it will enlarge it. anywho, it is good to be back at the site.nancy jo, i meant to tell you that i got your cute card, and your check, thanks so much, and i also got a nice christmas card from our girl, nance in france, it helped cheer me up when i was sic.
i wouldnt say im really well yet, but i feel good enough to hold a needle and thread and after the flu that feels very good.
glad you got the package, bramble and that you liked everything. hope i can post somemore this weekend.
i think im gonna have to go take a nap, i need my beauty rest.

finally feel like i am on the mend. only feel a little bad in the evening as the sun is setting.
this weekend i am off to another craft show in dallas, well, its not really a craft show it is the monthly dallas flea market, and i hope to bring a few crafts and some of my collectilbes.
we will have 3 boothes in all, my friend from dallas reid, my grandbabies dad and myself.
we will have an assortment of items crafted and collected. i have posted pics of my friends items on my blog spot. hope you can take a look at them. none of the pics are of me, i think the pic on the top is reids granddaughters, and then some of her booths at various shows and then reid , her soninlaw , her daughter and her dh, dave.
we have been friends since our children were indiapers, and she is the crafter extraordinaire.
i am so happy that now that she has quite her day job, she has asked me to participate in some of the craft fairs with her.
in january we will be at the quilt show in oklahoma city.
anywho, it is so good to be on the mend and crafting again.

thanks so much, pauline,
i checked out your web page and was very interested in the work yall are doing.
my little stuffies are made from felted knits that i recycle from the thrift store, etc. i am not a knitter, even though i have tried many time to be one.
i wonder if the sewn felted things would work wellwith your hats, and booties for the little ones.
i will go back to your site and see if their isnt a way that i could craft something that would be useful to your organzation.
i love making my crafts and i do sell them as a way to make money for us , but i have also been looking for some organization to donate some of my crafts to. if you have any ideas email me or post here. i know we can come up with some way i could be helpful.

We would love to have you and we sure don't limit crafts of any type as we serve babies and children to 18 years old in a crisis. They do not have to be poverty level, just in a situation that calls for extra love, comfort.. We would encourage anyone that crafts to see what they can do, they may be very surprised at how easy it is to make a baby that has just been through a car wreck, going to foster care, has cancer (or other illnesses) is preemie, and many other things for crisis, to make them feel better.
I know this may be offensive to some, but we do burial gowns out of wedding dresses, and make caskets for the babies when the parents can't afford them along with memory boxes. Just check us out if you feel like applying you hand at any crafts..God bless you all,
Pauline

Hey, gal pals! I, for one, would LOVE to sit down to breakfast and eat an egg that came from a giggling chicken! How could your day be bad after that? The little stuffies are cute; is there any age they would not be appropriate for? (doesn't look like it). Your love is poured into everything you create, and it shows. Keep it up and keep posting those awesome pictures! Love, Nance

Frannie,
I just now saw your post. Been busy knitting a purple gown with confetti introduced into the pattern, did a baby pink with confetti introduced into it with matching hats and booties, and hope to get this gown done soon. I had thought about knitting head bands for them, then declined. By the time you get to this point you feel ENOUGH already!
At present our forum is acting stupid, I hate it when that happens. Error messages all the time. Our host is lacking and we are searching for a more efficient one. :(
Good to see you on here and hope to post pic's soon.

good to hear from you pauline,
i am anxious to see some of your pics and know just what it feels like when the computer wont co-operate with ya.
if i had any true upper arm stregth left, i'm afraid i would have sailed the old computer more than a few times thru the air.
i guess there is an up side to being a little weak.
i am still trying to come up with some way i can participate in your organization.
part of me thinks i would like to make some little stuffies for the project yall have for the children that are in accidents, but they are pretty small( i could make them bigger), and i stuff them with cedar sawdust(cause it is really cheap....free.....and because it stuffs really tightly, if you pack it in real hard.)
if you havent seen the stuffies, there are some posted on sunshines vintage threads store under sewing. check thm out and see if they would work.
