Ok Farmgals. I just need some happy thoughts tossed my way. The first farm we tried to buy back in May fell through three days before we closed. The second house we tried to buy in August fell through a few weeks before closing. Now, we were supposed to be meeting this Friday to put in an offer on another house (kind of something that was already agreed upon between all parties, just waiting to make it official with the paperwork) and now we find out the people might be backing out because something changed for them and they're on the fence about whether they want to actually sell.

We're back to square one, I guess. AGAIN. I'm tired of house hunting, and I'm tired of things falling through. Yes I know I need to be a big girl and that things will work out and everything will be great in the end, but I feel like we've been dealing with this house falling through thing for this entire year, and it really gets into the way you think about things. I just need some time to pout. I'm tired of dragging my kids and my family through the excitement and sadness rollercoaster! I would just ask for some positive thoughts and farmgirl happiness directed this way...if you've got some smiles to spare! :) Thanks, gals!

Hang in there girl! Your pot of gold at the end o' the rainbow just hasn't had the right rainbow yet These are pretty tough times for folks to be selling and buying and everyone is being rather skittish. Take a few big deep breaths and don't let yourself feel too down about it. Try some positive visualizations, think about some decorating ideas that you want to try in your new home, look at some beautiful farm house pics on line or imagine what you'll plant in your new garden come spring! I have faith in you as a wily fellow farmgirl, that you'll find your farm before snow flies!

Big farm girl hugs and a fresh peanut butter cookie or three!

Thanks Jan and Annika. Your kind words make me smile! I don't mean to be so pouty - normally I'm the tough one, but dangit...even a farmgal gets frustrated every so often! I appreciate the PB cookies, Annika...can I have a couple more? ;)

Amy, I am so sorry. That has got to be frustrating and I know you are tired of it all right now. But tomorrow is a new day and there will be something better. It looks like right now that you will never find that house of your own, but don't give up. If you can just get around that corner, things will look better. There is a reason for all this, you know. It's hard to see that now but you will some day. I hope you can hear me cheering for you all the way down here in Ga. because I am. I am sending nice sunny happy thoughts your way. Don't give up.

Lots of hugs and prayers coming your way. Hang in there.

Kris

Thanks Kris - you are so sweet to cheer for me all the way down there! I know that someday this will all work out and I will look back and say it was all worth it. Thanks for the uplifting words! :)

Amy, I have been right where you are now. It took us 2 years before we finally closed on a house. We went through crazy sellers and crazy mortgage lenders and crazy realtors. We thank God every day for all the houses that fell through. We can't even remember what we thought was so great about those houses to put an offer in the first place. I do remember crying and telling DH how unfair it was that everyone else in the world got to have a house except us (a little overdramatic). But you get up and try again and try again and finally the right house will show up and everything will turn out fine. I'll pray that God sends you in the right direction this time.

Thank you, dear, for your kind words. Its nice to know I'm not the only one who might get a little dramatic when shot down a few times! :) Our realtor sent us some nice houses this morning that might make it on to the list to look at, so things are already looking up. AGAIN. :)

well sending hugs your way. i think the girls are right. the house your getting will fit you perfectly. good things take time. usually its the last hill we climb that gets us. so keep looking and it will come. it must feel like a wonderful privilege to be buying in this market. our house is worth less than half what we owe. scary. so try to enjoy the views on the way. you never know what will come next. i do feel for your frustration and it is hard work shopping, so sending hugs and support. we want pics when you finally get a house to close. happy days to you and strength to keep going sherrye

I wished you lived in OH. I see properties all the time when I am writing appraisals that you would love, & many times they are a steal.
I would find you something for sure!!
Good luck! I know you have been on pins & needles for a while.
PS, I love your blogs; your boys are adorable

Oh, boy, do I know how you feel! We searched for almost 5 years, gave up a few times along the way, had started moving into one place when we discovered there were almost half a million dollars in liens against it, had cash offers for more than they were asking for turned down. It can all be very discouraging, but there is one thing you have to keep in mind. God has a plan for you. The right opportunity will come along, in His time, not yours. As a control freak, that was a very hard lesson for me to learn. I also had to learn how to move mountains when they seemed insurmountable. I took the bull by the horns and started researching foreclosure properties. When I found something that I liked, I called the bank directly to inquire about the property, not the real estate people. The bank was willing to work with me and we are set to have settlement next week. Keep the faith, don't lose sight of your dreams and do not be disheartened. Things happen for a reason. We sometimes lose sight of the fact that God is in control and when our prayers go unanswered, we don't understand why. It's because He knows what lies ahead for you and your family and will guide you to where you need to be, if you let Him.

Best wishes. That perfect for you place is out there waiting. Just remember to cast your eyes to your future instead of dwelling on the past. If we concentrate on looking backward, we can miss what's coming straight at us.

Big hugs and happy trails!

Amy - I feel for you and will pray that everything works out soon. I know how frustrating selling, buying or shopping for real estate can be. Years ago my mother passed away when my oldest was a baby and we needed to settle her considerable medical bills by selling her house. One deal after another fell through and I thought I would go insane dealing with my grief and trying to fend off the bill collectors while trying to get it sold. That went on for almost a year! After that was settled, my husband and I were looking to buy our first home and we ended up searching for nearly another year. I know it's not the same, but I do know where you are coming from. I'm sending you Farmgirl Hugs!

Thanks Lisa, Sue, and Suzanne. It's nice to know that I'm not alone. Or wait...that didn't come out right, because I wouldn't wish real estate stress on anyone! But you all know what I mean. Thanks for your kind words and supportive thoughts. I think with farmgirl hugs you can get through just about anything! :)

That would be SO frustrating! Maybe the perfect place just isn't available yet and all these other deals are falling through so you won't buy the wrong one!!! The perfect place is coming and then everything will fall into place. But still..... SO frustrating!!!

Excuse the mess & the noise, my children are making happy memories

Oh Amy, I know how frustrating it can all be. Several times in the last few years, we have had bids and offers in on land in our neighborhood, only to have the deal fall through at the last minute. Now I am glad we did, a bigger chunk of land right next to some of ours became available this year, and because we weren't ever able to purcase the other parcels, we had more than enough $$ to purchase this. It just reminded me that it was in Gods time, not mine, as it will be for you too! Keep your chin up and the perfect place will appear!

Amy,

I'm sorry! Hang in there! I know it must be so frustrating. Seeing that the previous homes didn't work out must mean that there is an even better place for you and your family :) Praying for you!
