I've wanted to post a photo for a while now. The kids started back to school, so I took some time to post a little blurb on my blog about: our chicken coop - reconstructed from a corn crib that we bought, deconstructed from a farm about 20 miles away, and re-purposed for our chicks.

Would love to know what you think :)!

I love it! Great job! I agree - roof is really neat the way it is and you could get away with leaving it if you saw fit. Very much enjoyed your website as well...thanks for sharing!!!

Thanks for the comments. I don't mind the roof the way it is either - my husband likes the idea of painting it - probably silver. Mostly to protect it from future rust. Rust has it's own appeal though :)!

I love that! And the roof looks so good the way it is. Y'all did a great job. And what a wonderful story too. I bet your chickens are the envy of the farm.

Thanks Kris. I love seeing it from my kitchen window. The chickens and ducks seem to like it just fine too :)!

Very cool chicken coop! And I love exchange students, what a wonderful time for all involved. While growing up we had a Japanese and a German exchange student. I want to do this when my children are older too.

Excuse the mess & the noise, my children are making happy memories

It really was a great experience. I learned that I should become better at delegating if I really want Forrester Farm to grow. I tend to not want to impose on others - which is probably why Alize loved living with us and still calls me "mum" from France. :)!~
