I have had my horse for 3 weeks now. I forgot how wonderful it was to ride. I have missed having a horse SO much! Price and I are bonding-I'm just riding bareback now, and I'm thinking of just putting him in a hackamore-he's such an easygoing guy. I am truly blessed!! I love smelling like horse! LOL!

All of my horses, all of my life, I have never used anything but a light weight training snaffle, they are born with butter mouths and they stay that way...

Having horses is wonderful! I love riding with just a bareback pad...it seems like "the feel" is so much better that way. I've used Dr. Cook's Bitless Bridle for many years with a lot of success.

And of course this whole week it will be a mudpit out there-so no riding...but I still love waking up, looking out the window and seeing my big guy out there! :) It's amazing to have your horse in your backyard! I'm used to driving to the stable. This is an incredible blessing!

I have always thought those car freshner manufactors need to make a "horse scent" or "hay or sweet feed scent". Happy riding!

Paula had a good suggestion. A bitless bridle is the way to go. I won't use a hackamore on my horses ever... they mash their nose and put a lot of pressure on their face that you probably don't need if he is easy going. Or try a bosal.
I agree with you though.... nothing like riding. I had my first ride at 6 and have not stopped yet. :)

Congrats on you horse. I don't know what I would do without mine. We are trial-riding in a state park this weekend, can't wait.
