I have been very late in getting certain things out to folks I have bartered and swapped with. This is due to a very scary situation that needed to be addressed and is taking longer than expected to do so.

I have had someone threaten my home, family and life. . . I am dealing with the police and the court and have an order of protection while they are looking for the individual. We will be before a judge later this month and I am looking to get medical help for the individual in question.

The only reason I am sharing this with everyone, I simply need for all of you to understand my actions. . . or lack of actions. . . I needed to be sure my family would be safe . . . now, I can go back to doing all the things I normally do without worrying all the time.

So forgive me if you are waiting on something from me. . . I have your things and they are in the mail or about to be mailed . . . and I hope that you will all understand my situation a little better.

Thank you so much all of you!! It has been a huge stress on us and the very good news is they have at least located her. . . now we have a court date coming up this month and I hope to get her into a treatment facility. It has been a very difficult time and trying to live life without speaking about it has been hard as well.

God is watching over us and I am feeling better knowing things are finally going in a better direction.

Thank you again for all your wonderful messages and prayers!
Hugs to all of you!

Joanna....I'm so sorry you are going through this. I don't normally read all the different threads...just happened across this one today. On Sept 6th, the same day you made this thread. According to the post you made in the Apron Swap thread and the email I received from you...you mailed my package out on Sept 6th and that I should have it by Thursday the 8th. Just letting you know that today is Sept 20th, I have not received the package. In case you have tracking on it or anything...thought you'd need to know.

Yow. Sounds horrible. While I'm not on your "I owe" list, if I were, I'd be the first to tell you to keep your priorities straight and put me waaaaay after life, limb and habitat. Blessings, kiddo.

Good morning Everyone,
Wanted to give you an update on my situation. I did receive a one year order of protection, with the maximum protection allowed. Also was successful in having the court order personal counseling to the individual for a year, needing to report her progress monthly. this will help with other aspects of the situation further down the road.

All of this has taken a real toll on my. I am exhausted, folks locally do not wish to have me around due to the fear factor. . .hoping that subsides in the near future. . and it has also cost me lots of work.I keep praying I am doing things the way God wishes and keep plugging away each day.

The good news is my depression over all this is lifting, I have been hearing from some of you by emails, cards and surprise pkgs. . . please know how much that has lifted my spirits and makes me feel loved!!

My focus has changed to put all my effort into my online business and I am praying for success in this area. Since no one locally will hire me to teach my sewing lessons. .. it will be a necessity to sell on line.

A Huge Thank You to all of you for your continued support and encouragement during these trying times. You have been my life line when I truly needed one!!!
Big Hugs and lots of love to all of you!!!!
Joanna

Oh JOanna,
I am so happy to hear that things have taken a turn for the better for you! It saddens me that people would avoid you because of the situation you were in. Although I do not know the details, it seems to me that this is when a person needs friends and support the most. Shame on them! (sorry if that sounds judgemental, but...)
Anyhooo- I will continue to say a prayer for you, and will pray for the success of your online business. Any news with the sale of your home? Are you still trying to move? Good luck with everything- I pray that it all works out in your favor.
Hugs,

~Laurie

Hi Laurie,
Thank you so much for the prayers! I believe God has a hand in everything we do, this is just one of those moments when you need to believe in him above all else.

I do not blame anyone who separated themselves from me during this trying time. . . so much violence in the world, they were protecting their families and themselves. . . most of us truthfully would do the same thing under these circumstances.

What I have learned through all of this is amazing. . . stay the course, do what's right and all will work out in the end. . .and it has. The individual is receiving much needed medical care, I am getting my life back and appreciating the things I took for granted and most importantly, reaffirmed my faith.

We still have our home listed for sale, it would be nice to live closer to my son. . . however, if we end up staying I would not be the least bit disappointed!! I truly love it here. . . it's me!! LOL! There is nothing better than waking up and watching the sunrise over the mountain. . .seeing all the wildlife, listening to the peace and tranquility that surrounds us here.

As my online business grows, I will be able to spend more time developing my designs, creating new pieces and patterns to offer for sale and to continue doing what I love best. . . helping others in need. . .whether it's helping a family in need or someone just starting out in a business of their own, being able to help them in some way has always been something I simply love to do most of all.

Oh, Joanna, I'm so sorry to hear about your horrible problem! Hopefully, the worst is behind you and you know that you are moving forward. But I do believe that sometimes just treading water to stay afloat is better than sinking. Really.
