Was there a thread already going on suggestions for a dehydrator? I really need to invest in one, as we are running out of time this season to stock up.

I would love to hear what you suggest to buy.

I'll check back later. I have tomatoes cooking for sauce today. Plus a lot more.

I have an excalibur I got it because it is what my Momma had. She had hers for years and years. The one I have has a timer and I can adjust the temp too...Momma's was a 10 tray but mine is a 5 tray. Before she died she bought another 10 tray one. She left one to my sister and one to my brother. My brother died last year so when I go back to our home place I am going to get his and bring it here.

I have an open country dehydrator, I really like it. But I know a gal that has the big big one from cabella's she loves it.. but it's like 400. I bought the highest wattage one that sportsman's warehouse had (they are the only place around to buy stuff like that locally) I've made a lot of deer jerky in it, and then i went onto dehydrating herbs and squash and cherries...to make a long story short.. I really like mine :)

i bought the square nesco-it's a 4 tray but expandable to 8 trays-it does not have a timer but it does have a temp control knob..i have only used it so far for onions and sweet peppers-love it! i paid-i think-63.00 incl shipping on amazon a few months back.....it comes with a simple booklet and an herb tray-smaller holes to place on the reg tray.....i wanted the square one instead of round and could not spend the $ on the excaliber.....

I may be taking a hunter's safety course at a BassPro shop next month. If I do go, I'll have to check out what they have. Thanks.

I have a Nesco that I (very thankfully!) got from my wedding registry list almost 3 years ago when my hubby and I got married. I love using a dehydrator but I would love to get that one dehydrator that MaryJane mentions in one of her books. But I'm not complaining, I'm so very thankful for what I have but I'd love to get an upgrade so I can get more done :)
