To my wonderful secret sister, thank you. I appreciate the time you have taken to get to know me so well. I can hardly wait to have a little time to explore the book on foraging. I don't have one and it will go perfect on my farmgirl bookshelf. Thank you also for the stickers and Burt's Bees. Cathy

Thank you, secret sister, for the postcard from halfway around the world! How lucky that you get to travel the Mediterranean! The boys and I are enjoying the picture of the church you sent us. Enjoy your travels!

Dear Secret Sister,
I just loved reading the letter you sent!! I agree, it must be hard writing the letter without giving yourself away. You asked about the holidays. Where we live there won't be any trick or treater's for us to spoil. . so we are looking forward to Thanksgiving. I invite friends that have no where else to go, my son and his best friend and anyone else we know who could use a little holiday cheer! I always cook a very large turkey from 24 to 28 pounds at least. . . with all the trimmings.

We are also looking forward to Christmas. We don't do much as far as gifts go, a stocking and one present. . for us it's about family, sharing our love with them and helping those in need. So it is another holiday I truly look forward too!

I am busy preparing for the two craft shows in the beginning of November, plus the online shows I will also be a part of. If all goes well, I'll be one busy gal!! LOL!

Hope your doing great, thank you so much for your letter. . . love getting letters!!! Look forward to the day I get to know who you are too!!
Hugs!
Joanna

Dearest Secret Sister, your wonderful Care Package arrived yesterday, thanks so very much. I love the Farmhouse Crochet book, recipe cards, mini cross stitch kits and the Quilters Apprentice. I too love The Elm Creek Series and have read them all, I think Jennifer Chiaverini is a great writer and I love reading stories about quilting.
To answer your questions my favorite animal is the Polar Bear, of course I love all bears and Chickens. But I love dogs too, we have a 10 year old Golden Retriever and 3 Mini Long Hair Dachshunds, 4 year old momma, and her 2 pups who were just 2 years old all doggies are girls. I also have a 7 year old Male Golden Canary, who is a beautiful singer when the tea kettle goes off and we are vacuuming. So as you can see I love all animals.
My favorite color is Country Blue and Barn Wood Red, those two colors are so country.
Thank you again for all the wonderful treasures and being a special Secret Sister.
Farmgirl Hugs,
Debbie

I received a SS package yesterday perfectly tailored to me! It included a journal, small, cute pursesize notebook with pen, a jar or homemade strawberry rhubarb sauce!, soap made with honey, recipe cards, 2 sets of blank notecards, a package of loose white tea, a a bag of empty tea bags that you fill yourself! How so very neat! All of the paper products were all coordinated in a fall theme, thank you secret sister for making my favorite season even better!

WAHOOO!!!!!!
Oh my gosh. . . THANK YOU SECRET SISTER!!!!
After a long, wet, cold day yesterday. . . we had to run a couple errands into town. On our way home we passed the mailman who gave us a smile and a wave. . . pulled up to the mailbox, grabbed the mail and there it was. . . a package from you!!!

I don't know how you do it. . . I am in love with all the goodies you sent! New patterns to create from. . just what I needed!
So today, I will be playing in my sewing room, spent last night reading over all the patterns, deciding which fabrics would look good with what pattern etc. Now the fun begins!!

I love your letters too!! We have so much in common, like making apple sauce. A bountiful harvest of apples this year. . so pies, applesauce and apple butter are all on the agenda. Not to mention the mountain of pumpkins in my kitchen that I am slowly processing. . found it easier to bake a batch up and then freeze for use later on.
We are enjoying anything you can think of making with pumpkin including using it like you would squash. . . super yummy!!

Thank you again my Secret Sister, you have just made my whole week!!
Looking forward to knowing who you are!!
Hugs,
Joanna

To my secret sister, you are wonderful. I just love the journal and journal jar. It gave me some ideas for Christmas gifts. The buttons and crocheted heart made me smile. The candle smells so good that it made me cry(I am a bit hormonal), but it was a good cry. Just one sniff brought back such good memories of winter and Christmas. Thank you, so much, you make me feel very special and loved. Cathy

Thank You dear secret sister for the wonderful package. Sticky notes are always welcome around here and these are so cute. I love the fat quarters, perfect for several projects I have going on my table right now. Yes I have worn my fancy socks, a couple of times, they are so perfect for fall! What a dear secret sister you have been!

The journal jar I received has different prompts for me to write about. On the jar it says when I have finished it will be the story of my life. I googled it and found a place that has printable prompts. I may make some for Christmas gifts.

Received 2 cards, one last week reminding me that I was not forgotten:-) and one on Saturday that was a cute Halloween card! I appreciate your thoughtfulness secret sister.

I have just about given up on this swap as much as I like it. I apparently offended the person I had as a SS this time and she will not participate now, so I have no SS to send too. 2 swaps ago, my SS sent me a fabulous home made recipe for hot cocoa w/the recipe. I loved it and have shared it with many since then. I made some up and sent it with some other items along with the recipe and the story as to where I got the recipe from to my SS. Apparently she thought it was some kind of poison and doesn't care to participate now.
So after this round I will not be participating in anymore SS swaps. I have enjoyed seeing what everyone is receiving and giving and I wish you all a Happy Holiday season.

terri..wow-too bad you feel that way- but i can understand...i guess! poison huh???? wow! i know that i cannot have sugar so i would hesitate to use the hot choc mix myself but would love to pass something like that on if i received it! poison--wow- sorry! repeating myself!!!!
terri...often people who sign up for the secret sister swap are able to send wonderful gifts and boxes all of the time; your SS sounds like she wants you to feel loved but maybe doesn't have the means or the wherewithall (what DOES that word mean!) to do so; I am sure that you are NOT forgotten and she plans on sending something special just for you! I know that I originally thought that the SS swap was for small things throughout and then a big reveal at the end. Guess most others feel differently!

I don't post pics of what i receieve from my SS and i hope she is not offended. She has been more than generous with me and I really appreciate all of her goodies and thoughts. However, when some of the gifts are posted with pics, it makes some givers feel inadequate in their own gifting! did that make sense? it is not meant to -it just does....

well- the whole swap issue has been given a bad rap this past week or so. I would truly hope that your SS has intentions of a great package for you and soon!

hang in ! big big farmgirl hugs!

Marcy! Thank you so much for stepping in and "angeling" me a secret sister package :) You are so sweet! I was so bummed when I never heard from my secret sister in this swap then as soon as I let Sue know I receive this wonderful communication from an MJF Swap Angel! THANK you both so much for doing that - I had been feeling so bad about not receiving any contact and you healed that up right quick :) Happy Halloween and THANK YOU swap angel! :)

Oh Margo, sorry that my post got confusing. NO whomever is sending to me is WONDERFUL with the cards. I don't have any complaints there and am so happy that I am receiving them.

The person I was sending to is the one that got offended by the cocoa mix. I understand about allergies, but that is why I sent the recipe so they would know what exactly was in it. So if sugar is bad then they could have just thrown it out or given it to someone else. Either way it is a mute point now and I definitely won't be sending anything else out.

Terri, I understood your post but I am wondering how you know your SS was offended by what you sent? Did she post something about it somewhere? I am always unsure whether my SS really likes what I send but I try to put thought and effort into what I send as I am sure we all do. I am so sorry to hear this happened to you.
