While I was out yesterday!
Going a little crazy with storms and flats and almost running out of
gas the mail man came buy with a gift from my Va-vo (Portuguess for grandma).
She told me to watch for it She said she was sending me her old junk.
Usually 90% is not junk just little things she thinks I will like 10%
is junk and she just thinks " Boy what will Wendy think about this".
Wendy real name Sunshine nickname from friends I go by both.
So I thought I would post a little of what she calls her old junk here and see what you all think about junk.

this is everything all layed out

there will be close ups of everything on my blog you will be amazed at how much little stuff can fit in one box. I will try to get them up some time today as you can tell my pictures are to big for here so I put them on the blog

The pictures on the blog are easier to see. One day I will figure out how to resize pictures so that they are not so big here.

have a lovely day and may God bless you and keep you safe

I got all the items posted on my blog now was having problems with it as you will see. If you want to see the items better I separated them and wrote about them and why she would send them on the blog. I personally think it is a treasure not junk. She is a great grandma but she is truely more of a mom as she raised me from 4 - 15 years old when my parents decided they wanted me back. I would have rather stayed with her she is just great. I didn't have a choice as I was a minor.

Sunshine,
How sweet! I think you have some real treasures there for sure! I understand how you feel about your grandma, mine didn't raise me but without her I would have not had a childhood! All my toys and new clothes were bought by her until I was 12. I love her dearly!!Grandmas can be such a treasure!!! Thanks for sharing!!

My grandma did the same bought all my clothes and paid all my medical bill till I was 21 years old. My parents really were not fit to be parents but she didn't want to hurt them by fighting for me. She is a real good lady I could never say anything bad about her. She is 93 so I don't really expect her to be around much longer . We have three grandparents alive all are over 90 years old and all are in bad health. They are just the greatest people I know most people don't know the generations older than them any more and it is real sad as they have so much to offer.

Oh Sunshine, I agree!! I call my grandma at least every week and we talk for hours every time! I love her dearly and don't know what I will do when she is gone. She is 91 this coming Christmas. I have recently started asking her a bunch of questions from her childhood so I can document it before it is to late...and I am so glad I am!!! It is amazing what she remembers, like her first doll that had red hair and was sent to her in China by her aunt Hazel and she named her doll Julia...I never knew that before and now I do..such wonderful memories!!! I have been very close to both my mothers parents and actually was with my Grandpa telling him how much I loved him as he died..the hardest but most honored thing I have done after all he did for me. They have so much to pass on, at least you and I know that!! What an honor!!

Sunshine....Oh my goodness...somehow I missed your response! I am so sorry!! I just now checked back to see if you ever answered me..and yep you did. Please forgive the oversight!

For your question, yes I am living in Japan right now. And I am well thank you!

For fun? Lets see I belong to a stamp club (as in rubber stamps) and we meet twice a month to make things together and chat. They are a great group of gals and I really enjoy going! Also I belong to a book/cooking club that meets once a month with a food theme so everyone makes something to fit the theme (often goes with the book) and we get together and have a pot-luck type supper and discuss the book. I like to take classes online to and will start again in Oct. I scrap book, write, and go kereoke when ever I get the chance. It is different here. Here you rent a room by the hour and sing in private. You can order food and sing your heart out with your friends without being in front of strangers, I love it! Of course there is shopping, but not as much here as back home in the states. I do most of my shopping online. Right now it is too hot to go out much so I come here (so much fun!) and chat with every one, read a lot, and try to stay cool!!
Hope all is well with you and your grandma too!!

Hugz,
Talitha
