I agree with you Sheri. It was a popular tool for making afghans about 40 yrs ago (cuz I made one then). Others used something they made called broomstick lace. Both were light & airy. I'm sure if you google it, you will find patterns etc.

Yep, it is called broomstick lace tool if it was a bit bigger but if I am seeing the size correctly then it is hair pin lace. I have not worked on those for years... Lot's of fun.
