Well I have a friend who made a variety of blocks. It made the quilt shine with a dark background / golden leaf mixed with light background / dark leaf. So long story short ... I like a mix. Found the pattern ready to get started!! Just let us know what background we should use. Barbara

Did you and Susan mean to go to Quilter's Cache? There is a 12 1/2 maple leaf there. I can't find any patterns on Quilters Village.

Okay! I found the new pattern on Delaware Quilts. It is a bit simpler than the one on Quilters Village. I like it very much and am very excited for this swap. First I thought I liked off white for a background, but as I think about it, I agree a color (number 3) would be nice. Also am interested in what Barbara said about dark backgrounds. I have never used black before, but I bet it was lovely. Just let me know what you want me to do. (If you want 6 lights and 6 dark, all of one or whatever) Don't you just love fall? It is the best time of the year!

Since this is everyone's swap I will ask for a revote adding a 4th option. After this vote the decision will stand as voted on.
Background material for blocks:
1... off white/beige
2... white
3... Any light fall color: gold.green,orange,tan etc. of your choice.
4... 6 light backgrounds with dark leaves and 6 dark backgrounds
with light leaves color of your choice. I will then split
them up and we will each get 6 light and 6 dark background blocks.

If option 4 is used, would that also include the leaf? If we do a "dark" background would we do a lighter leaf?
Either way, I will stand with the majority.

I think I like option 4 better. If six of us did all dark background and six did light background.
But, I'm willing to go with whatever the group decides.

Okay for those of us that are slow, me ... #3 would be any light fall color for the background. Right? Because I'm ready to start cutting. I have wanted one of these quilts for years. Now I get to make one with my farm girl quilt friends ... so excited. Can you tell? Barbara
