I scored a great deal on a used, sewing cabinet with a TON of room inside. BUT, it's a dark brown stain on the outside (small dings/chipped in spots). So I bought some "antique" satin, cream color spray paint to paint it. I'd also like to add some snazz on the outside front door. Any ideas? I will be adding a knob on the front door, since we added a new latch for the door. It even has a working hydraulic lift for the machine!

I DON'T want to hot glue buttons all over, more like a old, prairie/vintage style, early 1900's, simple, etc. I thought about doing a burlap "ribbon" edging, after I saw buckets of burlaps blog- http://bucketsofburlap.blogspot.com/

But something simple that will last. Ideas? here's the photos-

How fun. Will you still use it for sewing supplies? It could even be a handy kitchen island if you put a cutting board top on it. Well its probably not tall enough for that. I would look thru magazines and cut out the pics that grab your eye and then see what they all had in common. That will show what you really like and put it on there.

Yes, it'll be set up for sewing, which I'm re-starting with. Haven't made clothes for decades, but jumping back in. On another thread someone suggested blackboard spray paint on the door. I may go with that, and some fabric accents....

It's done! I wound up doing the "creame antique" satin color, with the chalkboard paint in the center. Added a knob and wheels (free!), which we found had been taken off, go figure! A little shoutout to Dave, my hubby, for all his help!

All set and ready to sew!

Thas, it took a good 2 coats and 24 hours to "cure", works! I have a lot left over, so will do some other nifty projects...
