I try to check in on the forums daily but I may be off-line for a bit. My 9yo GD is here with us in Florida from NC for 2 weeks and we are having a ball. She is "my girl" and I haven't seen her in 6 months and I have missed her so much. Yesterday we were in the pool and went out to eat and went to see her great-grandfather who was delighted to see her. Today she was bike riding with Pop-Pop and we watched a movie while she was playing with my beads and making jewelty. I'm working the holiday so we will celebrate this weekend with our towns Orange festival on Sat. and a baseball game and fireworks on Sun. Tomorrow while I'm at work she will be fishing with my husband. We are having so much fun. I wish it could last forever. THIS is what it is all about! How I envy those of you who see your grands everyday. We are blessed. Joey

How fun! I hope she catches some big fish! Some of my fondest memories are fishing with my grandpa. :)

Sounds like too much fun Joey. My hubby is also Pop-Pop. We do not get to see our grandgirls very often, but as they get older, we are hoping for a week of two with each of them in the summers. Have fun and enjoy!

Today we took my Dad to his final baseball game and my GD to her frst. It was too hot and we had to take dad back to rehab but then we went to see the end of the game, the rock concert after and then fabulous fireworks. It made me sad that my dad couldn't tolerate being at the game as he loves baseball so and I realized he isn't well enough to go again, and it make also me happy that he was able to pass that legecy on to my GD. It is so hard to see him failing and getting sicker and sicker. Difficult day. Joey

Well, we're off to Busch Gardens tomorrow to see all the animals and then she and I will start for her home at the farm in NC. I'll get to see my DD and the 3yo GD for the weekend and then head back to Florida. We have totally enjoyed her being here and wish it could last forever. She has had so much fun but misses her Mom, Dad and little sister. There isn't anything better, I think. Joey

So neat to hear you are getting to spend time with your grandkids Joey! :] My camera caught Nanny Jane and Stella Jane this morning in the peony path. MJ LOVES having her granddaughters underfoot too!

What BEAUTIFUL pics! I love seeing the bright pink against the white background. SO very pretty.
Brook had a fun-filled vacation and is now anxious to get home and see her parents and 3yo sis who she now misses because she is away. (at home they fight alot.) We have had so much fun having her here and I miss her already. Luckily, I'll see them in Maine in Aug for a family wedding and in Sept. we all go to Disney world. It is so hard to be so far from them (I saw my Nana every day), so I'm feeling so blessed to see them so much this summer. I will be driving her home today and tomorrow. Joey

Well, here's the ending...after 2 wonderful weeks with 9yoGD we packed up the car..bike, steamer trunk we are redoing, lots of crafts and suitcases, snorkles, etc. I was going to drive her home to NC. We got 40 miles from home when the engine blew in my car on a major interstate...for 5 hours until my DH could come and rescue us. My daughter had to pack up the 3yo and drive 14 hours to us on Friday. We had a good weekend and they left today. The house is already too quiet. Joey

Sounds like you two had quite the adventure! Looks like the hardship of a failed engine gave you some quality family time, there is always a silver lining, isn't there? The Disneyland trip in August sounds like something to really look forward to. :) Thanks for the update Joey.

Wishing you well!
