What movies would you say are your favorites? Wild Hearts Can't Be Broken, Dances With Wolves, and the original Arthur are some of mine! :)

My very favorite is The Holiday with Cameron Diaz. Love that movie. And The Mirror Has Two Faces with Barbara Striesand and Jeff Bridges. I love the end the most. I cry every time I watch it. And the movie about the guy who is OCD and his gay neighbor and Helen Hunt. I wish I had a brain. Can't think of the name of it. That's another movie I can watch over and over. But The Holiday is #1.

Just to name a few of my faves!

My very favorite movie is the original The Women with Joan Fontaine, Norma Shearer and Rosalind Russell. Just a hoot. I guess my second favorite it What's Up Doc? :-)

State Fair, Waitress, and the Anne of Green Gables series (though not the third movie, blech!) are the ones I could watch over and over again!

I've never seen the Waitress. I'll have to look for it.

This past weekend I watched 39 Steps and Rope. Both by Hitchcock.

Gosh - I have so many - I love anything Alfred Hitchcock - especially "Rear Window". I love period pieces like "Gosford Park", "Pride and Prejudice" "Sense and Sensibility". I love "Wuthering Heights" with Juliet Binoche and Ralph Fiennes. I will admit to a guilty pleasure of loving "Harry Potter" and "Twilight" series. Ilove "Chocolat" with Johnny Depp ohh so many more!

One of the best movies I've ever seen was a French movie called "The Two of Us" about a Jewish boy sent to live with his grandparents during WWII. His grandfather doesn't know he's Jewish. It's in B&W with English dubbed in. I also loved "Whale Rider".

Donna, you MUST see Downton Abby, It's an excellent Masterpiece Theater Period drama about the comings and goings of a british noble family and their servants. As the series begins, the family has just received word that the Titanic has gone down with two of their relatives. The family's big problem; is that the father married the mother for her money to keep the property going. Her money became part of the estate. They have all daughters and none of them can inherit, so one of the fellows lost on the ship was a male cousin who had agreed to marry the oldest daughter and solve all their problems, and now they have to face the money, the house, the titles all going to a stranger. It's very charming, and reminds me of a grown up "Green Gables" type show. (The story lines are a good bit more salacious.)

Let me see... movie bucket list...
Washington Square (period drama)
Young Victoria (best. feminist icon. ever.)
True Grit, new one (Jeff Bridges does it even better than The Duke)
The Big Lebowski, because being part of all of "the dude" *in* conversations is fantastic.
Memoirs of a Geisha, to feed my love of Japan
Drop Dead Gorgeous, Kirstie Alley and company are HILARIOUS as small town minnesotans dealing with an annual beauty pageant and people involved dropping like flies. ("ooo gawd, are we on cawps agin?")
Marley and Me takes the cake for best dog movie
Secretariat and Seabiscuit are my fave horse movies

Thats really all I can think of on the spot, I'm sure you gals will remind me of more amazing movies!

I love The Women, the original version, also. And Lark Rise to Candleford is a nice series. I am a big Cary Grant fan and once answered a question in a party game, "which movie star would you most like to live next door to?" with Cary Grant. Much to my husband's relief! I like Arsenic and Old Lace, The Lord of the Rings, period films, Gone with the Wind, Eat Pray Man Woman. My husband memorizes all movie lines...I think to annoy me.

Absolutely without a doubt "The Man from Snowy River". The second one is okay, but the first is really awesome. Kirk Douglas is great as the two characters. And I could marry Clancy. Oh, baby.
