Yesterday my daughter and I attended a friend's 50th birthday at their home in a very beautiful, rural area in CT. Well, we were in the yard, and flying overhead was a beautiful, large bald eagle! I've only seen them in the zoo, and knew we have them here, but to see one in the wild soaring, gave me a sense of such patriotism! And so close to July fourth. It was beautiful. (Seen other kinds of Eagles before, just not the bald eagle).

Congrats. on seeing a bald eagle! They are majestic birds. We have some around here (the Mississippi valley) and hundreds in the winter. They follow the river. I've even seen a couple of their nests close to the river. (Their nests are hard to miss!) People around here like them because, among other reasons, they attract tourists. The Native Americans consider the eagle to be sacred cause it touches heaven.

WOW how wonderful Nicole!! They are so regal. I had five young one's who came to the farm this year - not sure why but I felt very blessed that they felt this farm was a safe place. My hens on the other hand was not so thrilled.

What a lucky day for you..

Thanks, everyone. Aren't they the coolest birds? We saw them in the zoo yesterday, but it is nothing like seeing them in "person". Grace, did they get any of your chickens? The one we saw was just flying around. So beautiful - and big!
