. . .have a menstrual period, wear a bra, and carry a pocketbook!

I came up with this during a "discussion" with my husband. (Needless to say, I won the "discussion").
We all need a laugh----hope this gives you one! Hugs, Darlene

Oh yes... and let's not forget the whole pregnancy thing... with hormones racing, sore body parts, insane cravings, mood swings...
And what about having them cook for an entire week and have every morsel wolfed down by eager eaters without it ever so much as touching a tastebud...
Oh! Oh! And having to clean the commode after another man has been there for a while...
Yeah... Good times...

Yes! Yes! I knew all farmgirls would know what I'm talkin' about.
And let's not forget the whole menopausal thing either!

Go through Menopause! Of course, if they did, there would be lots of wars started.

a pocketbook???
He should have to carry the giant hobo bag that holds the universe and everything else he and the kids don't want to carry. I'd get a lot more neck rubs if my husband was more aware of the 20 lb bag I lug around every time I leave the house.

Carry the baby in the carseat, the diaper bag, a purse, gallon of milk and two bags of groceries and still open the front door with a key. Real life right there. Couldn't do it.

Men should have a bad cold or flu.... and be able to do as much work around the house as a woman.
Here is a story of my DH... After giving birth to our first baby (with some serious complications) I was not allowed to have any pain medicine. He was telling me the pain was all in my head. It struck a bad nerve with me for YEARS. Well, this past winter he really threw his back out, couldn't move, couldn't get out of bed. He would wince in pain and then I said, "I have thrown my back out before this bad, and well it is comparable to having a c-section and then not having any pain medication afterwards." He looked at me and said, "You were in this much pain after that?" I replied, "Ohh, no, it was all in my head, just like your back ache is all in your head."
Let's just say when the baby comes out in t minus 10 days (give or take) I can have all the pain medication I want.

All men should...
Have to be the "bad guy." The one who says we can't get a toy this week. Puts their foot down when it's bedtime. Makes sure all the chores are done even though the "good" parent doesn't make them do everything.

... feel the frustration when a kid doesn't care what you threaten, how loudly you yell, or how many spankings they get from you, but quivers in fear at the mere mention that: "Dad is on the way home, and he's not happy"
Moms are ill-equipped to instill proper fear of God into naughty offspring like a father can.

Let's not forget buying thoughtful gifts for everyone in the family, not only for christmas but birthdays, graduations, anniversaries etc. Wrapping them and being sure they get where they need to be on time. And my personal favorite- Everything it takes to prepare for a trip. Not just packing but cleaning out the fridge, arrangements for all animals, arrangements for children or packing the things they need, mail and papers, itinerary to family or trusted friend, pre flight check ins, travel documents including reservation confirmations, setting the light timer, etc etc etc. I believe no one would ever travel if it were all left to the men! Answer a phone call, while getting the baby ready to nurse, settle an argument between two toddlers, and keep the baking, dishes and laundry up, weed and maintain the garden, with tidy hair, clean-shaven legs, And a bit of make-up to keep themselves presentable...daily. can't forget to feed and water the animals, change bedding, and clean up animal poop, all before anyone else in the family is up...then there are all the diapers!
The tears I shed then, watered the flowers I harvest now.

If everyone (i.e. farmgirls) can identify with all of these things, then they must be true!
A big thanks to all of you for proving my point. . .if a man couldn't, say just for just one week, have a complete menstrual cycle, wear a bra, and carry a pocketbook, how could he possibly handle (or survive!) any of the other things women do all of time?
Hugs to all, Darlene

The crash you heard was me falling off my computer chair, howling with laughter. The mental picture of my rough looking hubby putting on pantyhose is priceless. LOL

Great thread folks. I just have to ask. Where's the love for the men who fully realize and respect how totally awesome our wives are compared to us? For some reason I am thinking of the movie Wayne's World. "We're not worthy!"

Brian- you are very funny! My husband frequently tells me that I do way more than he does but at the same time he has qualities that balance out the equation. His infinite patience when dealing with the service companies is one of them! :)

Oh, Brian - you make me feel guilty! I was kind of thinking along the same lines because I do have an extraordinary husband... but a girl's gotta have a little fun now and then! ;P
