This day was going down hill into the crapper and i was ready to throw in the towel. Between still trying to get quotes to put my roof, barn and fences back into place, fighting with the insurance company and then dealing with bank and I.R.S. issues I was on my knees just feeling like I could not make it thru - in tears and just wanting to run and give up all this mess....

As if the universe heard me and understood how close to the edge I was I noticed through the tears the goat girls where in a circle in the pasture. I thought OH My A snake - it has happened before. Without thinking I ran and into the pasture I went. They moved to reveal -- A Baby Goat Girl!!! That's right, 2 months after the last baby born..

Amazing!!! A Blessing!!!

It is a new mother Miss Marple and trust me I had clipped her fleece a month ago and no Baby.. I haven't stopped the tears - She is Perfect. Thank you for this blessing today, it brought be back from the edge...

Grace, isn't that just the way it goes most of the time? It looks like we can't go on another step, then we look up and there it is. Something else to keep us going. That is so neat. I am so happy for you. And I will be praying all goes well and things start looking up for you. Thanks for sharing such sweet news with us.

Oh, Grace. Glad it wasn't a snake, but that would have taken your mind off your troubles, too! I do believe that there is a point in which we all feel we're at our world's end, and then? Something miraculous happens--a call from a long lost friend, a check in the mail, or a baby goat. I'm glad that this little perfect miracle came along when you needed her most.

Elaine your so right - besides I needed a wake up call to be thankful for those things I can do and know that there is something greater then me at work.

Jonni I would much rather have a baby goat then a rattle snake!!! With it being so hot and dry it will be another thing on the watch list - pray for some rain...

Candy I also want you ladies to know I give thanks for your kindness, support and well placed words and prayers. You all have gotten me thru some really hard spots and for that I am so very thankful...

Oh Grace! What a wonderful gift!! I'm so happy for you and the little one. Bet she's adorable!! I'm so happy to that her arrival helped to brighten things up for you. That's what my little Stevie did for me too. I was about nuts, literally, from all that horrid back pain and the out of the blue he was brought into my life unexpectedly! BTW, he is doing great! I think his eyesight has diminished somewhat, but he knows his area and is doing great healthwise!!

Glad you are feeling better!

Love, Lu

Oh Lu - I am so thrilled to hear that little Stevie is doing well. I have kept him and you in my thoughts and prayers and just knew that all was right... I am so sorry to read that you are having back issues - I know that pain. I have three disks that where crushed in a horse accident years ago, they wanted to do surgery but the chances of my losing mobility was too great - so I at time lay on the floor in pain or can not get straightened out and look like the letter S and I refuse to be drugged up so I can not tell you what day it is so we press on... Your posting as lightened my load today know that Stevie was your miracle and they he has found a loving home with you...

Thank you so very much Michele - I have always been a "up by the boot straps" kind a gal but I admit this year has just whipped me to my knees. It is with kind words and support of my farm girls that I keep standing up and putting one foot in front of the other. I can not put into words how much everyone support means to me...

no better gift than a babies life coming into this world, whether it's 2 legged or 4 legged, they are all so very precious, and that alone will give you a smile and happy tears in your eyes, and lift your spirit up in a way nothing else can...

Tina - Thanks so much - since I have dial up it only took over an hour to get them on the blog and when I tried to put them here the computer froze... I have some great snaps of all the other babies and I think I will load them late tonight while I catch a cat nap. My oldest goat "Sugar" is not long for this world so I will sit with him tonight.. One life comes in and another leaves...

Grace, I am so sorry about you loseing Sugar, I've been there and done that way too many times myself, sat in the barn, in a stall with heads in my lap for so long some times, my legs have gone numb, and it does not matter if its a ewe, nanny or a cow, I will sit and talk and comfort to the last breath, as long as there is no pain, I will let nature take its course...
Forgive my ignorence, is the new baby and momma a cashmere, I don't know fiber animals real well...
Also, I too have dial up, so I know very well what fun it is to load or download anything,lol...but I feel better, knowing I'm not the only one...

The Mother is a Cashmere and the Dad is an Angora so the wee one with be a cashgora... I love that combo becauase I get great length (the dad has a staple length of 10 inches) and I get his shine to the fiber. The cashmere means that the fiber separates from the body making it an ease to remove and you get a softer feel to the fiber - more like butter. My Cashgora fleece usually have waiting lists and throw incredible colors.

As for Sugar he has lived a very very long life (21 years) 15 with me. I am the same with never leaving someone alone. He has been telling me this is coming and between us two we have spent many long hours just enjoying the air and snuggling in the tall grass. He has been a very dear friend and it will be hard but his brother has passed and I feel he is awaiting the time to be reunited with him. I have truly been blessed to have him so long but I know the tears will be many but that just means I really love him..

Grace- My heart is with you and Sugar tonight. I hope his passing is comfortable and filled with love- and I know it will be because of the love you give your animals.

Nora has suggested a name for the new baby!! :)

She's so pretty, Grace. I will be thinking of you and Sugar. You are such a great person. I would love to be more like you. SO much compassion. I can feel it coming all the way through my computer screen. I hope to someday meet you.

Just came in from the barn and Sugar is now standing and eating some special herbs and grasses I cut for him. Needing to go to the little girls room and so I brought over Kasha (one of the oldest Great Prys) to sit with him while I quickly did some fiber work and get the crock pot started for tomorrows meals. Sugar however I think is telling me not to count him out yet. I am shredding him some apples and cucumbers (his fav's) and offering him some goodies. He is giving me those eyes that just melt the hardest of stones but we also talked abou all the adventures, head's getting stuck in places they where not meant to be and all the yearling goat boys he has trained over the years. I had hoped to have him for this years boys but it just might not be.

Alee, I can not wait to hear Nora name selection - the contest is coming tonight or tomorrow morning depending on how things go.

Kris we have been on many threads together and I too love our connections and experiences - I have learned a lot from you and your love for what you do and how you care for always comes thru your words. Like I said I have been so blessed to at least type with you all and if our paths do meet one day what tales we will share.

Got to run but will be in and out as the situation allows.
