Due to the abundance of rain, and the humid weather, our one bathroom and bedroom (built on a slab vs. foundation) is building moisture on the tile floor. I have not used my dehumidifier since we moved several years ago. I dug it out and that thing filled up twice!

It holds 35 pints of water. The cupboards had to be completely cleaned out, due to mildew inside and outside. We have never had this problem. We have moisture collectors in the cupboards now too.

I sure hope it doesn't affect the carpet. We are worried there is moisture under there too, but the carpet feels dry.

I guess many people in our area are having problems from the rain and moisture. I had my daughter clean out the gutters yesterday to make sure they were draining properly.

We expected rain last night, but it never arrived. I am having problems in my closet now, so the dehumidifier is pumping away again today.

Is it only in one room/bath? We are having trouble in only one room, but I am not sure why? The rest of the house is muggy, but not moist...I'm sorry, it sounds like its a bit worse at your place. It makes for extra work! I'm glad you had the dehumidifier on hand! Maybe the rain will stop soon, and we will have a spring soon!

The tears I shed then, watered the flowers I harvest now.

Yes,it's one bathroom, but we have the same tile that goes from the bathroom a bit out into the bedroom, and in front of glass doors. The bedroom, closet, bathroom and hallway outside, are all built on a cement slab. I'm glad I caught it when I did. The inside of the bathroom cupboards were covered in a thin layer of mildew.

setting a fan to blow on it may help dry it out too. :)
