I posted awhile ago about my DS and Fiance and how he proposed. The wedding is set for September 3rd! I wanted to share some engagement pictures that were taken at my son's grandpa's farm. I have mixed emotions...trying to be happy for them, but having a hard time since my DD's marriage is breaking up. My DS, Vann is 29 and his fiance, Kristin is 27. So they waited awhile and marriages always make me hopeful.

Happy to be a "Raggedy Ann" in a Barbie World!

I get up every morning determined to both change the world and have one hell of a good time. Sometimes this makes planning my day difficult.

Diane - Congratulations! I love the pictures. I can only imagine that this is a difficult time- two very different emotions at the same time. But I am sure your DD would want you to focus n your happiness for your DS!

So sorry for your DD Diane. My husband and I waited a little bit too not as long as your DS and his fiance, but pretty close. I think that coupled with our strong desire to honor God in our vows we made to him and each other, and just our strong will I think has made our marriage continue. It's not easy sometimes, but we always seek to please God first and work on things to get better. I have to give my husband a lot of credit also by him not doing things that would make me want to divorce him. And being patient with me while I learned to be a good wife, not saying he was always a perfect husband, but he has had a lot of patients with me.

I'm so sorry about your DD. Divorce is NEVER easy. I'm sure you feel conflicted as well. :(

Every relationship is complex, but as long as a love of God sits at the head, everything else falls into place. A spouse loving you best is all well and good.... till they find something or someone else to love.
If someone goes into a marriage thinking that true love is all about those warm and lovey dovey feelings sticking, firstly it's going to end sooner than they think, and second, its not going to end well. :(

Prayers for your son's impending marriage, prayers for your daughter, sounds like her trials aren't over yet.

Wonderful pictures! You can just feel their happiness. Congrads. I am sorry for your poor daughter. Divorce is so hard and can be so hard to get over. I had a VERY ugly divorce and looking back I think it took me 2-3 years to even feel stable. How fortunate they both are to have you to support both of them. Thanks for the pics-who doesn't love weddings. Hugs to you all, Joey

Diane: Happiness and sadness are what life is made of, and unfortunately we can't choose which. My prayers are with you my dear friend. Bonnie

Diane-
The pictures you posted are beautiful! They just look so romantic and DS and fiance look truly happy. I am sorry that your DD is going through divorce. Never an easy situation- for anyone involved or affected by it. Praying for you all, that you can support each other through the painful moments and enjoy the sweet moments too.
