Do we have any FARMGIRLS ready to make a few booties ........ another JIFFY-DELIGHT to make for Debbie Macomber's "KNIT 1 BLESS 2" for May of 2011.

Well here is a very easy knit pattern for our Farmgirl knitters from CARE WEAR.ORG......

Very Easy Knit Booties for Preemies

Large is about 2¾”
Medium is about 2¼”
Small is about 2”
X-Small is about 1¾”

Use: #5 needles and baby yarn

Cast on 30 (26, 22, 20) stitches, leaving about 8 or 9 inches of yarn to sew back seam.
Knit in garter stitch 18 (14, 12, 10) rows, 9 (7, 6, 5) ridges.
Bind off beginning of next two rows 7(6, 5, 4) sts.
Knit 14 (12,10, 8) rows – 7 (6, 5, 4) ridges.
Decrease one stitch at each end of the next row.
Knit one row plain.
Knit two together across next row.
Cut yarn, leaving about 10 to 12 inches.
With needle, thread yarn through remaining stitches and gather into circle for toe.
Sew edges together for top of foot.
Front of leg can be sewn together but left open (to make easier to put on baby).
With end of casting-on yarn, sew up back seam gathering up last 5 or 6 stitches to round heel.

READY FOR HAT TIME. . . . . .

You can really speed-knit along on these hats because you are using a #10 1/2 size pair of needles!

Sending off today on this warm "CINCO DE MAYO".......

IT's delightfully easy to make JIFFY baby items and fill up a box. This is another USPS Medium Size flat rate box that I have selected for my second mailing.

Right now I have mailed 35 baby items that I selected for "NEWBORNS IN NEED" since I make baby items all year long.

It's really quite a wonderful adventure and a good way to celebrate May and our mothers here and there and all around the world.

It's a way to say thank you to Debbie Macomber for all the many books that she has written and all of her knitting books.

It's a way to bless babies and children.

It's a way to celebrate being a mom and having a mom by stitching with love for Debbie's "KNIT 1 BLESS 2."

It's a way FARMGIRL KNITTERS and CROCHETERS can share our love in a very special way.

There's so many reasons and all of them are WONDERFUL!

Here's a look at the COUNTDOWN on Debbie Macomber's "KNIT 1 BLESS 2" for 2011....

We are just rounding up our first week in May....... that means ONLY 3 weeks left before any items need to be in the mail and received by Debbie by May 31st, 2011. That's Debbie's deadline for receipt of our handmade items of love.

This project only comes ONCE a YEAR and it is a great way to do something special in honor of our moms and those women who are dear in our hearts.

It's one of those projects that showcases the CARING SPIRIT of ALL FARMGIRLS across the country and around the world!

Right now I have three hats done, and have to finish two blankets. It's been really fun working on these items knowing they're going to a good cause:)

It's extra-extra FUN and FABULOUS is getting to sign-up on Debbie's website and select the special charity from the 3 chosen participants in the "KNIT 1 BLESS 2" project for 2011.

Our Farmgirls have 3 excellent choices to select from. It gives a heart a good warm feeling when looking over all 3 of these baby charities organizations that Debbie has continued to support over the years.

WONDERING who is Debbie Macomber?????

Debbie Macomber, author of the bestselling Blossom Street books and the Cedar Cove series, is one of the leading voices in women’s fiction today. Her work has debuted in the number one position on every major bestseller list, including those of the New York Times, USA TODAY and Publishers Weekly. She is a multiple award winner, and there are more than 140 million copies of her books in print worldwide. A TURN IN THE ROAD, her new novel from MIRA Books, goes on sale this May 2011.

In addition to her new novel, Debbie also has a new knitting book as well which is also titled "A TURN IN THE ROAD" and lots of great knitting patterns are included in this new book as in all her knitting books.

With any project, the fun comes right back to you in the giving. "KNIT 1 Bless 2" for 2011 gives Farmgirls an avenue to stitch along and give out our love for babies and children via this special adventure that Debbie Macomber is sponsporing and is being featured here on MJF FARMGIRL CONNECTION.

Indeed the adventure is enjoying each step you take. So maybe it's a new pattern from some of the ones that I've been sharing or one that you've been wanting to try and just haven't gotten around to it yet.

Maybe it's even learning a new craft and finding a good reason to try.

Like everything we do, it's all in the fun and the caring that you encounter when you engage in something as wonderful as Debbie Macomber's "KNIT 1 Bless 2"......... which really is much more than blessing 2..... more like 2 multiplied and making our world a lovelier place with more love and creativity touching hearts.
