If you make an infusion of parsley, it's supposed to help conjunctivitis or eye inflammations. Use an enamel or glass pot and put in 1 Tbsp. of parsley in it. You need to pour one cup of boiling water over that and let it steep(like tea) for twenty minutes. Of course, whatever you don't use, cover well to prevent evaporation. Just "splash" your eye(s) with it. I've never used this, but it comes from my most trusted book that I think everyone that uses herbs medicinally should own. It's called "The Herb Book" (imaginative, right?) by John Lust. It tells all about what different herbs can do, how to process them and prepare them, and has a very good reference section of 514 plants. (Just thought I'd spread the word about that book!) Really hope you get to feeling better soon! Eye problems are so miserable!

You can put some silver drops in your eye to help the infection. Chamomile and golden seal are also good to make an eyewash with or a poultice and soak it on your eye.

breastmilk :) Not to freak anyone out. But it works. they have actually been doing studies on using breastmilk to heal severe burns on victims in burn units. Naturally antibacterial :)

I used goldenseal for pink eye in my grandkids and myself. It really worked. Just mix some ground goldenseal in a little water and dip a cotton ball and wash each eye using a different one for each eye. I did this several times a day. It could be used for other infections as well.
Cold cucumber slices also work great for the swelling.
